It’s cheating no matter how they dress it up.
3 May 2019 at 3:07 am #178569And he has rightly been banned for it missing the first leg of the play offs
3 May 2019 at 5:20 am #178570I think the point is that cheating is a very emotive word, whereas the official phrase in teh charge is “successfully deceiving the referee” which is a more factual charge.
3 May 2019 at 11:10 am #178571It should be a longer ban imo, 2 games is not enough deterrent for such blatant cheating/deception.
On #lufc there’s some very funny responses to the incident, I particularly like the one with the cats!

Then again neither had the linesman.4 May 2019 at 6:01 am #178597I think the point is that cheating is a very emotive word, whereas the official phrase in teh charge is “successfully deceiving the referee” which is a more factual charge.

Then again neither had the linesman.[/quote]Nothing new there Sammy, they very rarely have a clue what’s happening.
4 May 2019 at 10:46 am #178598This confusion would never be allowed to continue in the NHS. An emergency meeting would be called, cancelled, rearranged, postponed and then re-rearranged, no matter what the expense to sort the terminology out.
The offence would be rebranded as an “STI” a Seriously Trivial Incident , but this would be reviewed every 12 months to ensure maximum confusion. It would also need to be passed by a panel who preside over abbreviations.
Training on the new terminology would be set up and this would be mandatory and linked to all staffs pay. Most importantly, the training wouldn’t be available until next year when every conceivable piece or paperwork has been changed,
To show Patrick Bamford just how serious this is he would be sent an EMAIL! He would then receive 6000 more emails just to make sure he got the first email.Just to clear that up!
Bet you all think I’m joking

You forgot to mention that before the meeting everyone involved will hold pre-meeting briefing meetings to decide what they consider the issues are, and then after the meeting everyone will hold review meetings to discuss how it went.
There would be a list of decision points and action points produced, with monitoring of the action points delegated to someone who wasn’t at the meeting so has no idea what the actual issues are.
I know you’re not joking. I worked in public sector too ;)
4 May 2019 at 1:21 pm #178606I think its why I drink
Did I mention that the training can only be accessed online and only from a computer with a wonky keyboard. You have to get a username and password from this link
“Bamfordisacheat.com”
Your password must contain 52 characters including a number, capital letter and symbol. No swear words can be used (tried this). An STI (Seriously Trivial Incident) will not be confused with an STI (Sexually Transmitted Infection) or an STI (Senior Technical Instructor), no, that would never happen so STI it is. Until the chief excel needs a pay rise!
Actually its Latics that make me drink
4 May 2019 at 1:29 pm #178607To balance my rant
When my mother was admitted to Wigan Infirmary last year, the care and treatment she received was superb, genuinely superb.
So thank you to anyone reading this that works at Wigan Infirmary

Nail on head and that describes where the public’s money goes perfectly.
Repeat it for the E.U. Whitehall, County Halls and Town Halls throughout the land and everywhere else that is run by the state or local authorities. Such a shame that valued services are mis-managed so much for the sake of red tape and passing round of papers.5 May 2019 at 12:23 am #178622This confusion would never be allowed to continue in the NHS. For the sake of clarity those attending the meeting are most likely to have nothing at all to do with the incident, and know nothing about the area of work and meanwhile the team on the shop floor continue to graft away keeping the whole section and department functioning as if Bamford had never deceived anyone.. It is likely that action points will be made but never actioned. There will of course be assurances that ‘changes will be made’ but a time scale will not be mentioned.
