in watching the latics if
as rumoured zogbia goes to villa medical tomorrow
and rodders to liverpool as rumoured
only two who have scored our goals to help us in our prem league struggle
with a very strong and highly successful rugby team in the warriors
who dont sell to survive and are value for money
i ask the question whats the point watching a struggling team ?and im not a rugby fan,but a pissed of tics fan
24 July 2011 at 1:58 pm #68886erm because you support them, and you must relise we cant afford to keep hold of our best players with the crowds we get in, but if we have supporters like you thinking of jumping ship when we are in the top flight, well you have answered your question, We need to build our support to have any chance of keeping our players, for example if you was a player would you rather run out in front of 38000 home fans or 12000  by the the way the rugby have always won things esp in the 90s and when we were in lower half of the leagues selling players as well, so nothing as really changed for latics supporters.

i simply asked what is the point
if you are a youngster ready to go watch your first ever sports match
which would you choose
highly successful rugby team or a struggling to survive football team in the prem that is24 July 2011 at 2:19 pm #68889It depends what you want to watch really, if you like rugby u will watch rugby, if you like football you will go to the dw knowing you are going to see some world class internationals, and maybe your small club will ruffle some feathers along the way, We as wigan supporters have to be realistic, I dont expect us to win any silverware but i do expect us to compete, but you just never know what might happen, for example 20 years ago i didnt expect us to be in the top flight and be in a 25000 seater stadium. ;)

Go outside and ask the first kid you come across if he would rather go and watch a highly successful rugby team play salford or a struggling football team play man utd.
From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!24 July 2011 at 8:04 pm #68899in watching the latics if as rumoured zogbia goes to villa medical tomorrow and rodders to liverpool as rumoured only two who have scored our goals to help us in our prem league struggle with a very strong and highly successful rugby team in the warriors who dont sell to survive and are value for money i ask the question whats the point watching a struggling team ? and im not a rugby fan,but a pee of tics fanVa’aiga Tuigamala, Andrew Farrell, Jason Robinson, Chris Ashton are 4 that left for bigger and better things and if you care to search there are a whole host of others.
the other thing with the worriers and thugby league in general, it is only a minority sport that draws its players from a minute geographical area, many of wigans players are home grown and this limits the level of talent and therefore the big clubs in australia or in rugby union have already got better players so dont need to poach players off them.
