Surprise Surprise …
Dave Whelan last night confirmed Malky Mackay WILL be interviewed in the search for a new Latics boss.
The Wigan chairman begain meeting candidates yesterday want wants an appointment this week.
“I can confirm Malky Mackay has applied and we will speak to him,” said Whelan. “I believe he deserves a fair hearing.”

19 November 2014 at 3:10 pm #135677Interesting that Whelan says he “applied” as opposed to being contacted direct by Whelan …

As for the knob from “WAFC – The Religion” who has issued an open latter on “behalf of Wigan Athlectic fans” saying that said fans don’t what Mackay – er, do one! What gives you the right to speak for anyone else?
Fortunately, i suspect it highly unlikely that Mssrs Wheland and Jackson spend very little time anywhere near his blog.

A miracle – I agree with Griff for once !
19 November 2014 at 4:50 pm #135680They say people vote with their feet (or arses in our case) so IF he got the job, then people who didn’t agree wouldn’t go the game …. right ?
I for one really cant happening, and rather than having any negative affect ,I can see some of the lost fans returning in the hope of seeing a decent game of football ..

I also don’t see it making a difference.
If a friend of mine used the alleged terms in front of me then they wouldn’t be my friend any longer. That’s just based on my own ethics and choice who I surround myself with.
However if it was a work colleague or customer for example, then I could and would still have a professional relationship with them.I have little interest in the personal life or private conversations of potential Latics staff.
Getting the right person for the job is most important.19 November 2014 at 5:20 pm #135682What’s the current situation regarding him and the FA? I understood he was reported to the FA back in August but I have not heard of any fines, suspensions or sanctions being imposed on him. Have they ruled on it or are they dragging their feet as usual?

The majority of people kept going when Coyle was manager, even with his Bolton connections
