glasgow rangers want to buy bury fc
and then replace bury in league 2 if that is league bury are in
and play in glasgow
now our leader opens his mouth once more (whelan)
rangers aim is to get into the english prem league what does whelan say
no way rangers are a scotish team and stay in scotland
scotish football is for scots, same as english prem is for english clubs onlyand what about swansea ?, god this guy is losing the plot
and making himself look a tit.27 June 2012 at 3:43 pm #89705Think he’s right, actually.
Scotland has a viable (albeit poor quality) league that has been round well over 100 years. There’s a world of difference between that and the League of Wales which was cobbled out of minor leagues within living memory.
Teams can’t choose which country’s league they would like to play in, just as you can’t pick which national team you are stuck with ;)

but not the irish wannabe celticI’ve no problem as such with Rangers or Celtic (or anyone else for that matter) joining the English league set up.
What annoys me about Celtic & Rangers is that they seem to think they have the right because of their followings to be parachuted in to the top flight at the expense of clubs who have fought all their existence to try & get there. If those 2 clubs want to join the English league they should have to start off at the very bottom of the pyramid set up & be made to earn their place in the top flight – teams can apply to join the NWCL every season so if they wanna join our party they should have to start at that level like everybody else28 June 2012 at 12:18 am #89717Never should Celtic or Rangers be allowed to play outside of Scottish Football.
28 June 2012 at 1:35 am #89720Rangers and Celtic in the English league, are some of you for real? Have you forgotton what it has taken for Wigan Athletic to be a Premier League club? Have you forgotten the 40 times we went cap in hand to the league meetings to try and win enough votes to get in the league? The struggles of old just trying to remain a league club before Mr Whelan rocked up?.The fact that in recent years AFC Wimbledon,Aldershot and Newport County have had to start at the bottom of the pyramid systemn to get back to a reasonable level again.?If they wish to become part of our League then they can bloody well do exactly the same as the rest of us have had to and start at the bottom.

29 June 2012 at 2:04 am #89757Didnt Latics try to join the scottish league back in the 70s after getting peeved by constant rejection from the football league?
Whelan will know all these quotes in the media keep Latics in the news and raise the profile of the club.
Does anyone remember his announcement in the local press years ago when he allegedly said anyone from Wigan who wins Wimbledon?????( )within a finite amount of time would receive a large cash sum from him.29 June 2012 at 4:46 am #89769Bullheads have a big heads and Stone loach live under stones.
