“If the lad had any brains he’d stay under Roberto for another year or so.”
Tell it how it is Dave! Classic.

And therein lies the problem with Moses, I think. Thicker than an elephant’s foreskin
18 July 2012 at 2:45 pm #90378Agreed – and I hope Whelan has said the same to his face.
Maybe this more public, personal dig will get him to wake up.18 July 2012 at 3:11 pm #90379Whelan is spot on and i hope this will make Moses see sense and realise that a move now could be disastrous for his career at this moment in time.
Its either that or he wants to conclude the business as soon as possible so the club can get his replacement in with the money received.
I cant see Moses staying but it annoys when players think they can tear up contracts at the drop of a hat then get @rsey when the move is stalled by rightful transfer fee demands.
This matter needs to be quickly settled because the club needs to get the players it needs in as soon as possible.18 July 2012 at 4:32 pm #90380This is the reason why we are in trouble with the english national squad, ok moses is nigerian. But the desire to have one or two good seasons, jump ship to a large premiership and rot in the reserves. Gives us players for the national team who cant be relied upon and without good experience.
18 July 2012 at 5:32 pm #90383I rarely say a bad word against Whelan but calling one of your star players thick coming into a new season that you would like to sign an extension is not the smartest of moves.
18 July 2012 at 6:13 pm #90388me too
i rarely have a bad word to say about whelan,i thought what was said was funny18 July 2012 at 7:04 pm #90390I rarely say a bad word against Whelan but calling one of your star players thick coming into a new season that you would like to sign an extension is not the smartest of moves. He’s not calling him thick outright. If he stays then he has brains.
If he goes, and hence ceases to be one of ours, then Whelan is saying he doesn’t have brains.

I understand that… I know how these things work mate and so should Whelan.
What i’m getting at is after I read it on here the top story on newsnow was “Whelan tells no brains Moses to stay put”…
There is the chance that might make Victor feel a bit sheepish…
IMO Whelan has earned the right to say what he wants when he wants about all Wigan Athletic related things I just think he could be a bit more tact in his wording e.g. He hit a new level under Roberto in the latter half of last season. If he plays a full season like that he will have his pick of top clubs in the world.
But then again I dont know what has happened with the negotiations maybe they have totally broke down and this is a last attempt to make him rethink.
19 July 2012 at 1:09 am #90402We will miss him(Whelan) when he’s gone thats for sure!
