The main thing I picked up on was that on a few occasions he said that Charlie wanted to go.
That’s enough for me, but as he said himself, £10m is giving him away.

I said to my mate today if Charlie goes to Austria, we might just hang on to him, if he doesn’t go then he’s off. DW confirmed that he hadn’t travelled due to “he has been working hard in training and Roberto thinks he needs a rest”.

What a load of bollucks, I take it all the others have not been working hard then?.

He will sign for villa on Monday for £10m

Its obvious from Whelans interview hes going (NZogbia in a transfer, not Whelans mental state) but I dont think its 100% to Villa yet…

The worry is who can replace him. And I dont think there is anybody out there! Ive heard Wright Phillips mentioned but I cant see it happening.

As much as I think the whole team improved from February onwards last season it was NZogbia who (Almost) single handedly kept us up. I remember slating him at the start of the season because I thought he didnt give a feck but fair play to him he was class. That goal against West Ham, the celebrations, the feeling it gave me will live with me forever.

Wherever he goes he deserves a good reception when he returns because he was awesome. (I remember saying something similar about Valencia, but in his return for United Im quite sure the shouts of “You cheating cu*t, get up you wan*er, Valencia you cu*t, cheating basta*rd” werent the best way to welcome back our Ecuadorian friend! :o

I have to disagree with some of the “Zog can’t be replaced ” comments. :hand:

Whilst I agree he scored some important goals for us towards the end of last season, there were other players who contributed just as much in different positions. Absi, Diame [on occasions], Alcaraz, even Ben Watson had a major impact. The ball that fed Sammon for the equaliser at home to wet spam springs to mind.

The one thing missing from Zog’s game is “balls into the box”. I think he had something like 5 assists last year in the 34 games he played, now that to me can be improved on. I know Routledge has been mentioned and there must be others who are not has direct as Zog, but certainly can take on players wide and whip crosses in for the likes of Sammon and Hugo to feed off.

Zog to me is the best “one trick pony” merchant in world football. We, the full backs he plays against, all know he is going to cut inside onto his left peg, yet he does it time and time again and gets the shot in.
Now how many times do you see him taking players on wide and whipping balls in with his right foot?

I would love Charlie to stay, but if he goes I’m sure Bobby will find a decent replacement and we may see Zog and his “new team” sitting below us in the EPL come next May. :snooty:
