The ‘Lightsiders’ seem to be keeping quiet? Probably waiting until the transfer window closes and not panicking at all! Surely deep down they can see that Whelan has made a massive faux pas! One of them ( Can’t remember who ) said that the thing that wasn’t normal was us being in the Prem for 8 years and winning the FA Cup! This person reckoned that we should really be in the lower divisions and used the hackneyed term ‘Little Wigan’ ! Talk about not having any vision or ambition! Perhaps we should swap the name from ‘Lightsiders’ to ‘Darksiders’ seems right to me!
As for Whelan, in my opinion he needs to eat some humble pie and admit he has fucked up! Just 4 points from a possible 24 is a pretty dire record in anyone’s books ! Has Whelan not questioned his manager’s team selections? You would like to think that he has had a word in his ear but from the displays it appears maybe not!
Something is seriously amiss within the club and to be told that we shouldn’t be too concerned or that we are not qualified to comment on the obvious problems is a little frustrating if I am being honest! I am surprised that nobody has suggested some sort of protest akin to the ‘Kean Out’ protest that the Rovers action group started, we shouldn’t just sit back and watch this sorry tale unfurl before our very own eyes, we must act now! Going down is not going to help our current plight despite what some have suggested! Relegation has a detrimental effect on any club and financially it is crippling and so how can that possibly help a club in plight? If we get hammered next Saturday I think something will boil over with the fans, it has to!

Opening up the lightside /darkside argument again is what you want Fil I thought that had gone with the Martinez era but alas here you are again opening it up has I was described as an lightsider ie backing the Bobby regime ,How are the darksiders now feeling after his departure.

The old be careful what you wish for could prove to be right and since Bobbies departure you have got what you wished for a complete feck up in the managerial appointments since . Owen Coyle , Uwe Rosler and now Malky all bought players with them except Malky who has brought one in albeit on a six week loan with the exception of James McClean and maybe Perch all the rest have been proven not good enough

To sign Grant Holt on a long contract at the age of 32 on a three year contract on god knows how much money for a starter I think most people thought was a good signing due to his previous record but turned out to be a big blunder and still do . Then we have the Riera and delort shambles for another instance .

What has happened to the scouting at this club we used to bring in unknowns for minimal payment ,players at other clubs not wanted but they gave their all for the club unless they didn’t want to be here like Cattermole .

The overhaul riding factor is since the play off fiasco against QPR the players have been on a downward spiral I don’t know what as caused this weather it’s due to reduction in wages as the money runs out from the PL days ,lack of motivation from Uwe and MM who knows but two managers this season have failed to get the best out of the players and I fear that putting another manager in there will not change the attitude of the players

The LS/DS has never gone away! Maybe the names have been dropped but the personnel are just the same! Fans who opine when things are patently wrong and those that maintain a blind faith to their club! As for Martinez, he fucked off regardless and has done nothing since to prove he is the best manager in the World which is what that madhead of a chairman tried to suggest! Burnley tasted the so called nectar of the Premier League albeit briefly but they managed to return without capitulating as a relatively small club so why are we falling like a stone? Look no further than Whelan, he is at the helm of this sinking ship but I bet he won’t go down with it, he will jump ship anon!

The thing I find strange is why have 3 managers had to work with the same backroom squad and not been able to bring in their own team. A great number 2 can make a world of difference as we witnessed with PJ and Hutchings. Is it just coincidence that 3 guys seem to be sending us in the same direction in similar style and the new manager syndrome is not working here. If changes are to be made keep Malky and get shut of Barrow and his merry men and let the gaffer form his own support.

              Malky’s backroom staff at Cardiff

              MACKAY’S BOOT ROOM

              DAVID KERSLAKE – ASSISTANT MANAGER

AS a player, Londoner Kerslake was a forward-foraging right-back at the likes of QPR, Swindon and Spurs.

It was with the youngsters at Tottenham he first worked as a coach in the Academy before becoming reserve team coach at Nottingham Forest under former Swindon team-mate Colin Calderwood. The 45-year-old went on to become assistant manager at the City Ground before Mackay brought him in as first-team coach at Watford, the same position Mackay himself had started out in management with at Watford.

JOE McBRIDE – FIRST TEAM COACH

THE 50-year-old Glaswegian was a winger who began his playing career at Everton and had spells at Rotherham and Oldham before moving back to end his career in Scotland.

Indeed, McBride became a coach during his time at Albion Rovers and was made caretaker manager when Jimmy Crease resigned as manager in December 1995.

He went on to become a youth coach at Celtic, developing players including Aiden McGeady, Paul Caddis and Cillian Sheridan.

McBride subsequently assisted Willie McStay at Újpest FC in Budapest, Hungary, but in June last year Mackay installed the fellow Scot as youth coach at Watford.

RICHARD COLLINGE – HEAD OF PERFORMANCE

STOKE-BORN Collinge has an MSc in sports physiotherapy from University College, London and spent three years working as physiotherapist at St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington.

He joined Watford from Brentford back in 2002 initially to work with the Hornets youngsters in the Academy.

He rose to become first team physio and when Mackay arrived at Vicarage Road he was moved to head up the new manager’s medical team. Collinge is an expert in work aimed at preventing football injuries occurring in the first place.

From where I sit in the West, it seems like it’s Brian Kerslake who is doing the most confabbing with McKay, a coach that he has brought in.

Having said that, I personally would like to see all links from the old brigade severed. That includes Barrow, Black, Cribley and the various other back office staff.

I still have the belief that if Martinez had brought in an experienced, bin there done that sort of assistant, we would still be in the top flight. You only have to look at the Everton bench to see the likes of Jones and Lawrence sat there, to understand why we are were we are and why Everton are struggling.

There must be loads of ex prem league managers knocking about, who might jump at the offer of being a number 2. That for me would be a signing worth his weight in gold.

                From Matlock to ManU
                What a journey!

Ridgewell loan is totally pointless and baffling ( The norm for MM! ) I believe he was shocking yesterday!

Not often that yo and I agree, but I agree with that.

And even if it doesn’t sort it, some grown men on here really want to calm down and get something proper in their lives to worry about.

Too late then gents, we’ll be stuck with what we have

Find it baffling that some folk just don’t care if we go down so easily without a fight, under such a cloud, with such a cock as malky and his formations.

This grown men thing ……….Latics aren’t my be all and end all but they are my team, always have been always will be but I don’t want to see what I’m seeing now. I would have thought everyone could agree with that.

I don’t want to see it either, but I also don’t see any point in throwing myself into a hysterical fit about it like some.

My thread wasn’t meant to come across as hysterical because I am nothing like hysterical but I am a little worried that not many seem to be saying anything? There does seem to be a lie down and roll over attitude which is quite bizarre if I am being honest! Rovers fans took action and fought for their club when they feared that Kean would ruin them, why are we not doing anything? If one can’t see that there is a massive problem that will end up with us going down and eventually disappearing from the football league then there is no hope for us!

I’ve called the Rovers fans I know rotten since we sent them down that they did fuck all against venkys and Keane apart from lob a chicken on the pitch.

We seem to be doing less than that and ironically play them next, ready to get thumped with nobody up front, without a chicken in sight.
