If you are going to Bruges, where are you going before the game?.There is the Markt square which looks like it has a fair amount of bars/eating places.
There is also a square called t’zand, also looks like it has a few bars.Down towards the ground there are a 2 or 3 very small pubs.So where are we all heading? Also has anyone been here before? :woohoo:6 September 2013 at 4:11 pm #120684I’ve been before and it’s a lovely city and very friendly. I do worry that some of our fans will abuse that friendliness. The Market Square is beautiful with a few bars close by, but they are mainly restaurants. For more pub type places you’ll need to go down the side streets. Didn’t really get to see much of the other square but I don’t recall anything actually on the square, but again there are plenty places down the side streets. This square isn’t as nice as the other but it’s not far from the ground. The other one, although busier, is a fair trek to the stadium.

What a journey!7 September 2013 at 5:00 am #120730Think we’ll probably visit the nearest pub to our hotel.. Then listen out for the tics making a noise and go from there.

I hope we won’t experience any scenes like this.
9 September 2013 at 8:08 pm #120850As per any European city square, everyone gets drawn to it and then pays through the nose for having a drink sitting in it. I fear the younger lads will go mad before the game drinking wise. Heavy gear some of the stuff they serve.
9 September 2013 at 9:02 pm #120854Jupiler is a 5.2% abv, pale lager. It is the biggest-selling beer in Belgium. Jupiler is the main sponsor of the Belgian Pro League.
Stella Artois is a 5.2% ABV lager beer brewed in Leuven, Belgium, since 1926. A lower alcohol content (4% ABV) version is sold in the UK.
Hoegaarden Brewery is also in Belgium. Hoegaarden is a wheat beer spiced with coriander and orange peel. It is unfiltered and therefore has a cloudy appearance. It has an alcoholic content of 4.9%.
Gueuze comes from the area around Brussels and is made by blending young and old lambic (spontaneously fermented) beers. Oude (Old) Gueuze has a sour taste, but commercial brews are much sweeter. Fruit may be added too; the cherry beer is called kriek.
Belle-Vue is the biggest producer of gueuze with 5.5% alcohol; it makes Gueuze, Kriek, Kriek Extra and Raspberry.
There are lots of local breweries producing beers in their own regional style, including Rodenbach, a brewery in Roeselare, Belgium. It is noted for its production of barrel-aged sour beers in the Flemish tradition. Rodenbach Original is 5% alcohol.
