For a bloke who likes the sound of his own voice he has been unusually quiet lately.
Seems to have given up his Manchester Evening News column an all,
Wonder if he is starting to regret `Bigging Up` Martinez!

just ffok off lad.1 March 2010 at 11:18 am #24824Do you want uncle dave to come out and slate roberto and the team? Would this make you happy and stop you complaing?
1 March 2010 at 12:14 pm #24832Maybe he is too busy working out how to pay of our £50m worth of debt !

I’m no Whelan fan believe me.
But what would happen if he walked away from Wigan Athletic tomorrow, and demanded the return of the money he has loaned them.It would be another Portsmouth.
I think it’s a case of better the devil you know.
Do you think Whelan would sell the Latics tomorrow if he could get his money back?I do.
1 March 2010 at 1:09 pm #24839He sold you lot quick enough, but only uncle dave knows his intentions towards wigan ath!

[/quote]More to the point, who would buy it?
1 March 2010 at 1:37 pm #24843To be fair whelan has always said that we owe money but arent in debt, ie he has pledged to write off the debts, but I am sure some of our journalists will be able to clarify.
It does pay to be in debt for the tax breaks.
But this is the reason why the war chest is closed and we have to take risks on players. At least we saved £2m this year on Marlon going….
1 March 2010 at 7:01 pm #24919Right………….now you ave all had your say on summert that had bugger all to do with the original post can we now get back to the post……..

Do you seriously think that such a serial wallflower like Whelan would shy away from sacking Martinez if he wanted too, let alone throwing a few negative comments at him in the press?Martinez clearly has the support of Whelan – for whatever reason – and if you’re all sat waiting for him to be sacked I think it’s a while off coming yet.

And i thought our debts according to a post on vital wigan was £18 million
2 March 2010 at 1:43 am #24983Calm before the storm. I think Whelan will sack Martinez and will do it this season. He would sooner have £40 million for staying up than a fraction for relegation.
Business genius, latics saviour, rugby hater!

2 March 2010 at 1:48 am #24987IS that not good? Slag Whelan off all they like, he is the reason for the success we have had. He has always done the right thing even if he does talk to much.
He will sack him if needed.
