asked during the week why was Kirkland not in the England squad? Defensively we were poor but my missus could have kept them out. And to think he is our new captain adds more wieght to the argument that the spanish one really hasn’t got a clue.
N.B
Get rid of Figueroa. The lads not interested in Wigan Athletic.

I had a Honduras flag with me aswel in the West Stand, if he would of saw that … we would of won 10-4 :P
We have a keeper with a glass-back and a bad shoulder……
A midfielder who can die at anytime……
Only Latics…..
I’d love to see some Wiganers in the squad at some time in the future. Even if they weren’t from the town but close by like Billinge, Leyland, Chorley, Skelmersdale, St Helens, Lostock, Warrington it would be welcome.

A few of us were saying today, it’s getting that way where we’d rather see us playing in the lower divisions with a team full of hard working, BRITISH players, rather than have a team of half-hearted mercenaries who are just looking for a bigger-club move.
I was absolutely disgusted by that performance today.
I was THAT angry, I actually turned my Iphone, with mobile internet browsing facility off. :(

Not sure about the lower divisions bit ;) but I’m with you all the way with the rest. I’d love to see serious money pumped into the academy set-up, which in the end will save the club millions and reduce the need for these, as you so succinctly put it, mercenaries.

I was saying this on the way home. I’m getting to the point where I want us to be back in the Football League.
It means that any players that don’t want to play for us will surely and finally leave, and we will be left with those that have a genuine desire to play for the team and the fans.
It would also bring an end to the people that leave whenever things are looking bad. I can see why they did after today but there’s no way that I’ll ever boo the team or leave early, I want them to know that I support them and who knows, one day they might acknowledge it and up their game.
It would stop the talk about the stadium never being full, because we would no longer have the lowest attendance in the division.
And, finally, I wouldn’t have to stick MOTD on and hear Hansen and the crew talking shit about us even when we genuinely play well. They’re going to go to town tonight, and I will probably set it to mute when we come on. Lee Dixon has been the only one of them that’s ever put a good word in for us.
Give me Championship football, I much preferred it.

Well let’s face it, some kid kicking an old tennis ball around in the back streets of Buenos Aires, Bogota, or even Belfast, doesn’t dream of playing for Wigan Athletic, do they?
We come along, sign them up, and they and their agent obviously say “It’s a ‘shop-window’ opportunity. “Listen Carlos Kickaball, what you need to do is put some decent performances in on the field for Wigan, and I’ll engineer some speculation. Once we have a couple of official enquiries, you just need to throw your toys out of the pram, make it clear you would like to move to a big club, and we’ll make it happen”.
Do YOU not feel that we are nothing but a bloody ‘show-room’ for potential ‘big club’ hopefuls? I’ve had enough of it. Bring back some genuine ‘pride’ in the shirt and club. We’ve lost it, over the past 2 or 3 seasons.
