If we all put in 50p we may be able to treat our Rugby chums to The Macron Stadium for an early Christmas present.

Why would we want to go there?

More to the point……why would you want to give £2500 to B*lton?

Well at one stage Horwich was the first choice for the then Wigan Board.
Next giving a tiny amount for the Macron was a piss take about the plight of The Piggy Footers.
At one time that’s what C.L did (take the piss out of Bolton and The Rugby).

It doesn’t really work anymore. Bolton are in a higher division, and the Warriors are still attracting 14,000+ fans and had a 100% home league record last season.

Maybe you could try taking the piss out of Tranmere, Chester or Southport.

We will stick to The Pigs Feet thanks Mutty. After the shite we got off those stye dwellers last season hearing of their plight does bring a slight grin to our faces. If they come out of this in Blackpool’s position they will have done well. Just keep watching Mutts those debts in Makem and Takem land just dinna gan away bonny lad. May be another Darlington happening.

I’m not too well-versed of Bolton’s situation, but I thought the majority of their debt was to their owner Eddie Davies. Sunderland’s debt is to Ellis Short, their owner, and I believe Wigan Athletic’s debt is to Dave Whelan.

The only time there will be a problem is if any of those individuals decide to pull the plug on funding the shortfall, but then they run the risk of losing most, if not all of the monies owed. That’s what happened to Brooks Mileson when he stopped bankrolling Gretna.

I think, mutty (and I am no expert in this I will admit) that the difference we have is that Dave Whelan converted a significant chunk of the debt into equity, rather than just a charge on the balance sheet.

By doing this the debt varies as the share price varies and if the club is in tight financial position (as we are – but that is different to being broke) then the share price drops and hence the amount the club “owes” is reduced. I am not sure even that this no longer becomes a “debt” as such, but just what he will get back for the club.

So in essence, Whelan is still screwing the club a year after leaving it and without a peep about ‘the club he loves’ since?

Love off! i told you all years ago what his game was. Little David will have been advised accordingly. Uncle Dave can’t be seen to just give him 10m quid or so. He needs to learn the business. Needs to learn how to screw businesses over legitimately and still walk away with a fat wedge to start his entrepreneurial career. Just like Granddad. Unfortunately for Latics, They are the test pilot. Conference in 4 years with no DW to play in. I will stick by it.

Well i am a little apprehensive for the future of our club, but i’m not as sceptical as you YH. Dave may have protected himself, but even if he has, then i’ll still say THANKS.
We maybe nearly be back where we started, but it’s not been a bad journey has it.
If Dave is teaching is grandson the art of business then that can only be a good thing for WAFC. Let’s just hope young David has the same conviction of his granddad, and gets us back to the Championship this season!

PS, as good as it is seeing Bolton struggle, not so sure it is wise to gloat about their plight?
