Who was brave enough to stay and see it, we left at half time bloody terrible.
I can’t believe we’re waiting to put a new man in charge till summer, Barrow has to go.
Enjoyed the Ugandan choir tho.8 April 2017 at 10:13 pm #157714I walked after they took lead, because I lost it and had an explosion of language which two old coots sat behind me didn’t like.
I’m sorry, but I’ve had enough. Not just the crap on the pitch, but the whole match going experience. There’s no atmosphere, and we have some right boring gimps who sit there, quietly mumbling and grumbling about our failings. And if it’s not that, it’s the gobby get who thinks he’s a comedian sat behind us. Likes being heard, and tries to laugh and joke about how crap we are. He can’t be a proper supporter, not acting how he does, the attention seeking nob. That’s me totally done for the season. A self imposed ban. Because if I carry on going, I’ll get a real ban for losing it. I was tempted today to shoot down the front and have a right go…we were terrible. We may have ended up winning the game today, but don’t be fooled. The performance was shambolic again. Against an already relegated side.
I had thoughts of chucking my season ticket….or cutting it up. But no. I’ll Save it for the summer for when they announce Barrow has been given the job. I’ll send our tickets to the club and tell them to stick it up their……Never been as disenchanted. I shouldn’t have gone today. I was already wound up about how we are, but the sun convinced me. And what a poor turn out. Can’t blame people at all.
8 April 2017 at 10:44 pm #157716I for one am glad i came now & this coming from someone who did not finish work until 3pm & who works in st helens. Got to poolstock for 3.15 (quite good really) & my kind mother dropped me off, where i met up with my son, father & sister.
The performance was expected given both teams league positions. We also had the added pressure of being the team with more to lose. Whilst i cant comment on the first 25 mimutes of the game, what i saw was a decent battling performance which merited the win.
As for your comments vat69 – i’m sorry, but what kind of supporter are you. If that is your attitude, you can fook off now for me & never return. Don’t get me wrong, i haven’t been particularly happy with the way things have gone this season. And, should barrow be given the job full-time (which i don’t think he will TBH), i won’t be happy with that either. But, i will still be here next season, the season after, the one after that & so on.
Why? Wigan athletic is the club i love. My home town club. I will be celebrating (regardless of what league we are in next season) my 40th season supporting this fine club. 40 years ago i expected my team to be one of those teams that always languished in the 2 bottom divisions forever. Since 1995 my club went on a fantastic ride & spent 7 more seasons in the premier league than what i thought it would.
Yes 3 of the last 4 seasons haven’t been the best. But regardless, i always presumed one supported a club through the good times & moreso, the bad.

What did I tell you! a bit later than I expected, but in she comes.
Just think what you said there Dave, you have had a go at someone who vocally calls the team crap, in your words “he mustn’t be a proper supporter” then you leave early, threaten to rip your season card up and say you are not going again this season, just because we struggled to beat Rotherham, Jesus wept!
Anyway you missed a fekin screamer from Powell and some of the best football we’ve played all season for the last 10-15 mins of the match.

What a journey!8 April 2017 at 10:55 pm #157719Have you ever stopped to think that miserable choots like you are one of the main reasons the atmosphere is so bad? Me well I’m just going to enjoy a rare win and not waste my time looking for negatives.

8 April 2017 at 11:01 pm #157724Runcorn I know we’re your coming from but I also totally understand Vat69, I’m the same as him, on my sleave bloke with blood pressure off the charts with watching the team we all love, Bristol result was a killer today for us but I’ll still purchase a season ticket next season.

If your definition of the word “deluded” means sticking by your football club through thick and thin, celebrate the good times, dig in and try to keep positive through the bad times, then yes I’m feckin deluded and so are a few others on here.
Not been back on CL long mate and your on melt down already!

8 April 2017 at 11:22 pm #157735I must be deluded as well. Deluded for nearly 40 years. If your playing the ‘jcl’ card at me, don’t bother pal.
32 years for me. Yep was there in the 800 v Bury in Leyland daft trophy, etc. Endured the Swain days etc. So I’ve been along for the ride, same as you.
Surely you cannot be satisfied with how things are? Look at the attendances…that doesn’t lie. I’m fed up of the club from top to bottom. So yeah, I’ll have a break these last 3 games. Maybe I am how I am because I want BETTER for the club? I think this relegation may well kill the club. Seriously. Can guarantee we will.make a big financial loss, through going down. I’m not sure we will bounce back. Maybe I care.
And yes, I DO bloody care! That’s why I speak out. I have to speak my mind. There’s been some terrible management of the club, some awful choices. I just wonder where the hell it will be turned around. I hope they appoint the right man, but we all know what will probably happen. It’s nailed on, Barrow will get the job.
Last time we went down, we had a better squad than this. That’s what worries me. Maybe me coming in here after a victory wasn’t a good move by myself. You are all.kind of thinking now we have a chance to survive. It won’t happen. We don’t deserve to survive, it’s as simple as that.
League one will be so hard this time, against teams who have been together 2 or 3 seasons. We will start with a new team again, and will have to gel again. It’ll be a hard task.

Im not playing any JCL cards vat69 & there has been no mention in any of my posts that i was referring to you as one.
My concern is i get the feeling you want to walk away from the club. When it is at times like this (& especially next season if/when we’re in league 1), that we need to get behind the club not walk away from it.
I am as concerned as you as to how this season has turned out. I for one dont like it either. But if we all turned our back on this club, there wont be a football club anymore & THAT would cause even me to be depressed. You learn who you’re true fans are in times of adversity. Take a break if you must, but until at least thursday, then come on down & cheer the team on & think of me who cant go because:
A) work
B) stupid meaningless rugby game preventing me from originally going next saturday as i was off next weekend. -
