Although our Club Executives will obviously be going along to the meeting, Supporters will also be represented by the FSF, who are doing a Survey to gauge overall opinion on the various proposals that will be tabled:

6 October 2016 at 12:01 am #151257Leave well alone, its not broke so it don’t need fixing.
6 October 2016 at 1:10 am #151262That’s the point, it has been broke for quite a while, hence the fixture congestion (which gets worse when games get cancelled or teams go on big runs in the Cup), traveling to long distant away games on a Tuesday night, massive (expensive) squads etc…. It is only going to get worse unless a solution is found.

6 October 2016 at 2:00 am #151265More money filtering down instead of stayig in the Prem is what needs to happen.
Theyve just got the new money in this season and instead of getting it down to lower leagues it is the likes of Crystal Palace, Everton and West Brom spending £50m to stay in the f*cking League. knocks me sick6 October 2016 at 2:04 am #151268We’ve got teams in the Championship spending £50M to get back in the PL, it’s getting ridiculous.

It is only going to get worse unless a solution is found. Some of my fondest memories of watching this amazing club away have been the long haul games, Torquay on a Saturday night, Portsmouth also a Saturday night game (Prem tv game) Southend on a Friday night. England is a small country compared to France, Germany etc and I reckon most fans would miss the travelling if we regionalise the lower divisions. I understand the financial benefits but I also feel it will take away the magic for the loyal fan who follows his team everywhere with pride. Over 40yrs I have watched my club in this format and its been the greatest rollercoaster ride ever. I wouldn’t change a thing.
6 October 2016 at 12:29 pm #151274Good points Nuneaton. No change needed or wanted. The fixture congestion is caused by The Champions League and mainly by matches cancelled due to the international breaks which doesn’t concern league one and two anyway. I would like to see international breaks stopped and second replays brought back for cup games.
Do not let this tinkering ruin the game anymore than past tinkering has done.6 October 2016 at 12:35 pm #151275I too follow this Club everywhere and that is the point of one of the proposals, to bring back the long haul games to weekends rather than Tuesday nights.
Though I must admit, Millwall apart we don’t have a bad showing at these away games, but the fact is, more would travel if they were on a Saturday (and even better if a cap on prices fro away supporters was introduced, won’t hold breath though).
I know I coming across as being very ‘pro’ change here, but I am not, there isn’t enough information on the table, so I am trying to dispel a few myths. I actually don’t know what the final proposals will be, neither does anyone else.
This vote is to get it to the table and set up specific proposals to debate, not for making it set in stone. I have an open mind and will listen, but don’t want it to be another money in the pockets of the Premier League Clubs directive.

6 October 2016 at 1:49 pm #151276That’s exactly my reservations jayt, it seems these days that any new proposals or changes are solely to benefit the big clubs and the greed league.

6 October 2016 at 9:02 pm #151287The survey asks would you be in favour of 4 leagues of 20 or 22 teams. Why is there not a third choice of 24 teams? There is no reason at all why there should be such a reduction in league numbers.
6 October 2016 at 11:23 pm #151289You possibly need to read this thread and the proposals to work out why they want smaller leagues.

7 October 2016 at 1:38 am #151291I have read this thread and can not see myself any reason on God’s Earth why we need less games a season. I reckon other fans hopefully do not want this diluting of our football league system because of pressure from above.
Every club in The Championship have ample sized squads to cope with 46 league games and a sprinkling of cup games. -
