He submitted his report saying he was right to not take any action against rooney. Surely he knows this is a lie, wouldnt people respect him more if he just admitted to being wrong?
      pathetic

Its pathetic to be honest BUT the respect of match going fans means far less to him that the grief he’d have got from United & the FA for giving a decision in the first place for an incident that he didn’t see properly

Just like that Attwell last season who clearly got his decision wrong in the Caldwell/Tevez incident & so changed his reasons for the sending off

Bloody hell if I make a cock up when I ref (as I did on Saturday when I sent someone off for a second caution when I hadn’t previously booked em) I will hold my hands up & say I got it wrong & rectify the matter

exactly, refs are afraid of the big clubs, its so obvious when all the decisions go there way. at old trafford this season nani shoved figeroa in the face but nothing game of it. I would respect refs a whole lot more if they just admitted when they are wrong. They’re only human we make mistakes, it’s just annoying when he has stuck by his decision when its obvious to everyone that it should have been a sending off for violent conduct

There’s an article in the sports pull out in the Independent this morning which pretty much outlined where there wasn’t a cat in hells chance that Clattenberg was gonna change his mind
Also highlights the problem with the current system in terms of how ref’s are allocated to games & how they receive their match bonus which explains alot

At the end of the day, if rooney had a 10 match ban it wouldnt effect us now, he missed it at the time or chose to miss it anyway, so we need to move on.

I have to say big clubs seem to get the decisions, however they do seem to give a lot of decisions to the smaller clubs we all tend to gloss over.
