Barrow’s on a month’s holiday?

Hope he stays on it
Why?
You really need to ask?.
Obviously I do. What exactly has he done wrong?
He has,nt done anything wrong but I don’t think he has the coaching skills that our squad needs. I’m not saying he should be disposed of but we need a new approach under a new head coach.

From what I gather he’s in there for his contacts and his man-management abilities rather than coaching.

It’s why Martinez had him managing the Development Team.

Maybe running the academy would be a good fit for him then Standish. He could have coaches working for him and he can identify the staff he thinks we need.

It won’t make a sod a difference if we have 12 out 12 in every time we change managers and bring new players in we’ll never play actually in the memory of man.

Stability means the powers that be above choose the right guy for the job , I mean Coyle, MacKay and Joyce were enough to make you pond skim your season ticket up the duggy going phone

I may being a bit pedantic here, but the duggy is a river not a pond, nevertheless you are right, the managerial appointments have been a little dodgy to say the least.

The slating of barrow always leaves me with a bad taste given his stature as a player here in the eighties and his heroic stint in the dark days of 1994-95 season.
The people who give him a hard time obviously we’re not watching the team back then but he took over with the club bottom of the football league and in serious threat of relegation.
He steadied the ship and turned things around and it makes you wonder did whelan buy the club on the back of the turnaround he brought to the club.
The fact that he is held in very high regard by people at the club maybe is because in some respects he was the man who started the glorious years that followed.
I remember his first press conference in November 94 when he just told the press that he didn’t have time for a pre amble with the players he just started training because the position the club was in was so serious.
Old school and in his late middle age doesn’t hide the fact that he has been a credible servant to the club and deserves a role within it.

The knowledge Graham has about football and the lower leagues is emmense and if we are to challenge for promotion his input must be used. I think Caldwell may well fallen on his face and not got us promoted without the help of Graham. We must find some way to utilise this loyal servant to the club. (Well paid loyal servant I must add).

I agree Nuneaton.

He’s also popular with the players which is why they appealed for him to stay when Martinez went.

Barrow had games to save us and didn’t, I know he’s said its wetted his appetite but for F’s sake if he takes charge we’ll be lucky to sell a thousand season tickets, it’s a no no from me, that decision would be worse than all the other appointments. Total clear out and his name is top of the list.

I cant see him getting the job as first team manager as the bookies have Steve Mcclaren nailed on for that now.
He does however deserve a position in the club given his undoubted long term loyalty to Latic’s especially given his rather abrupt sacking in October 1995 that wasn’t widely welcomed at the time believe me.
He was also a player of some note and a real hardman footballer who allegedly once offered out Larry Lloyd on woodhouse stadium after a bust up in training.
He wouldn’t be my choice as first team manager in any way shape or form but to use him as a scapegoat for the clubs ills is plainly ridiculous.
Give him a job with the kids or just let him help out with training but FFS some of our fans haven’t half developed a snooty attitude that is usually found in the premier league.
We ARE an effing third division club now and and we have to deal with that and surely somebody who was a bloody good player as well as manager at that level is worth having around the place!!
