Just over 60’000 on for tonight’s England qualifier at Wembley, Played in London with nearly 8 million people living there and they can only manage 60’000 FFS!

Play the game at old Trafford and you’ll have more on and an atmosphere thrown in for free.

Did you watch the game? Why the fuck would you pay to watch that.

    RIP the beautiful game
    RIP English football

8 Million live in London, but not all are English.

The best atmosphere I have ever had at an International game was at Old Trafford when we played Greece. Wembley being rebuilt and the England Team touring around the UK was the best thing that ever happened to the International game here.
It is no co-incidence that the National Support has dwindled now it is 100% back in the Capital, crap crowds that are there on cheap tickets watching some not so terrific players scrape wins and draws, plus not making much noise in the process.
A midweek game that only those that are close to London can watch. Play them at Manchester’s Stadiums, Newcastle, Liverpool etc and the crowds will come and support them, plus make noise which I think contributes to the team playing better.
Stuff Wembley and paying off the debt, get Spurs to do that whilst they are lodging there.

Away a lot, but always watching

Firstly there was a tube strike planned which put a lot off secondly England fans travel from all over the country not just the home counties so the venue isn’t the problem.

After last nights utterly disgraceful performance how can you expect any crowd to create an atmosphere.

Last night was an embarrassment and an insult to fans who did go. How do these overpaid overhyped morons sleep well after playing like that. Joe Hart got man of the match on the strength of a double save ffs.

Anyone who thinks that Old Trafford is a good venue for England games is clearly from the North West. I still lived in the Midlands when Wembley was being rebuilt and never missed a game at OT trouble was getting back to Manchester City centre to get trains back. I had to leave games early just to make the Metro and British transport being what it is tried their best to make getting home after games damn near impossible. Wembley isn’t the problem with England its the continental type of football that has infested our game and insisted that turgid passing sideways and backwards slow slow slow build up is the way to go. Southgate is just another FA puppet willing to bore the nation rigid and get his quarter of a million bonus for reaching the finals. World class players my fookin arse.

I agree but it wasn’t even a double save & I couldn’t understand why the pundits kept going on about it – the ref quite clearly blew for a foul (incorrectly in my opinion) after Hart came out & blocked the first one.
Whilst he did get up after 2 whacks & block the follow up, he may as well have stayed down coz it wouldn’t have counted anyway

As for England games – I’ve watched a few in the flesh in my time & the atmosphere at the home games, whether they were at Wembley, Old Trafford, Leeds or wherever was always rubbish no matter who the opponents were.
The atmosphere at away games on the other hand is somet else – as is the journey & the pre & Post match festivities

Couldn’t agree more tilders England away was always brilliant especially against the other home nations and the Dutch.

How bad was it last night that Glenn Hoddle couldn’t name a man of the match and gave it Hart coz he had just made that save when he was asked.

Hart should never play for England. The cock up against Scotland was the last straw.

I find England torture, I always watch simply because I love watching football, whether it is us live, England, the women’s tournaments. But England qualification is always dull, then we build up to the tournaments in hope, we all watch and are ultimately nearly always disappointed, apart from Italia 90 and euro 96 (which ultimately were disappointing to go out of)the tournaments a big let down. My approach is simply to enjoy the rest of the tournament.
As for Wembley, it just isnt the same watching England compared to the club, the best it got for me with England was being behind the goal when Beckham stuck that free kick in at old Trafford to qualify us for a tournament, cant remember which one!

            Wembley for qualifiers.

            Round the country for friendlies.

My worry is if this is the best england can offer, it doesn’t bode too well for the future.

I think some of the qualifiers should be around the country egg.

But saying that not sure I’d pay to watch that rubbish. Wet lettuce of a manager mixed with over rated passionless pre Madonna’s….
Not an imaginative footballer or leader in that squad.

What’s a pre Madonna? I really can’t remember what came before her? I think it was Olivia Newton-John or the blonde one from Abba. ;)

When you are picking players like Lingard who have managed 5 substitute appearances totalling 72 minutes in the Premier League this season, you know you are scraping the bottom of the barrel. His form for Man Utd Reserves must’ve been phenomenal for him to get an international call-up!
