I noticed that the rugby had flags all along the gantry above the north stand last night, must have been about 7 that someone had took the trouble to climb up and put them there for them.
There are now seventeen flags with three more on order. You’ll love the Chairman Mo one I’M sure.
Mo was there on Friday resplendent in his Wigan RLFC tie, it’s good to know where his true loyalty lies.
my son just foned me they tryed to stop him taking flag into stadium said it was a fire hazard
Quite correct imo!
Fingers crossed our stewards and Health an Safety Officer will ban that Fire Hazard suspended high up in the South Stand on RL Matchdays
I saw your son trying to put the flag up and they wouldn’t allow it yet when I put mine up on the same seats the stewards didn’t say a thing. I tried to find him after to tell him i’ll help him put it up next to mine but I didn’t see him again until after the game when catching the train back to Wigan.
As soon as I put mine up there were 4 other flags incl. a spain flag which was good to see.
Poor following on the whole and that spoiled the atmosphere although we were quite noisy throughout. Fantastic performance by our players, even after going down to 10 men we were the better side. Half way through 2nd half the stats showed we had 55% of poss, more shots on goal, more on target and more corners. We were on top for 75% of the game bar a few chances and a poor refereeing decision has cost us in the end as the quality shone through. Bad goalkeeping by Stojkovic for their 1st goal, thought he backed out and ducked the challenge although at the other end I think the ref would have classed that as a foul.
Never mind, good effort and Martinez’s reaction to the ref at the end of the game summed it up.
i phoned eastlands after my son got kicked out and told him to wait near the main entrance,i explained over the phone what had happend and that some stewards said it was ok and others said it wasnt, and that a steward a took his ticket off him ripped it up in his face and ejected, citys reply was we will not allow him back into the stadium and put my complaint in writeing :x  thanks to to all the lads who gave my lad a lift with the flag CHEERS ;)

you miserable get
them flags look beltin at matches, would love a few more dotted around the ground as well but we’ll see what happens
good luck gettin it sorted. once you get the word around other fans should start chuckin in. one of the fellas that sorts the flags for us gets random fans givin him money at games now
I think the flags look quite good up there, I’ve got a feeling though that there would be some bizarre reason that the stadium won’t let Wigan Athletic fans put flags up on the stands, we’ll see.

There were 17 up on the gantry and one in the disabled bay that arrived too late to go on the gantry. There are another three on order so the gantry will soon be full.
I took a “BRAMBLE FOR ENGLAND” England flag to Stoke away this season, does anyone here know the sailor guy who I’ve seen a few times at Wigan? He, hence the name, dresses like a sailor and brought a flag to Stoke aswell if memory serves, just wandered if anyone knew him or if he himself uses these forums. He seemed abit of a legend!!
