The Mail on Sunday says Wigan are set to beat Chelsea, Sunderland, Manchester City and Everton to sign £3million Barnsley teenager John Stones.

The 18-year-old right-back has been impressive for the Championship club this season.

Wigan boss Roberto Martinez is confident of bringing him to the DW Stadium in January by promising him regular first-team football – something the big clubs are unable to do.

Wigan don’t play full backs! Is he going to play as a centre back or a wing back?

He’ll have to be trained in Wigan’s tactics. If he is being offered a regular place, who is he going to replace?

At least Wigan appear to be active in the transfer market. I’m more worried about where the goals are going to come from. I’d like to see a little more of Miyaichi. He does seem willing to take people on.

    Yeah Donners?

    What’s the starting 11 v Fulham?

Did Martinez express disapointment to players after the draw yesterday?

What does he have for breakfast before a big game?

    Chop chop

Martinez said he was very happy with the performance of some of the players yesterday, he was especially proud of the way the ones that have come through our development system handled themselves. They showed a lot of character in a very tough match against a team that has not lost in 17 games in all competitions.
Some showed that will be pushing for first team places and will grow stronger as they get more chances like these to get used to playing competitive matches.

I personally thought that Danny Redmond did more in one half than what Beausejour has done so far this season. Golobart seemed to be confident and strong, McManaman will only benefit from more games, Henriquez looks strong and menacing, Mike Pollitt is still not past it and at the end of the day we came through a game that we could have lost had their heads gone down.

I think this will be a similar team that will play in the replay (with some of the injured players returning to be included) and will have learned from this experience. They will go down there knowing that only a win will do and I reckon they’ll do it comfortably.

FA Cup Winners 2013, sounds good that
