Once again, it’s that tricky game after the international break.
Powell has returned from the Under 21s with a knock. McArthur played for half an hour last night for Scotland, and so did McClean for the Republic of Ireland.
Brazil play Chile tonight and Beausejour may follow up a victory against England with an appearance against Brazil. That’s quite a fortnight for him, and he may well be rested for our next game.
Meanwhile, Wigan’s injured players continue to make progress. Ramis is ready to return to first team football and Caldwell hopes to be back in action before the end of the year.
Patrick Antelmi, a forward, has been on trial for two weeks at Wigan. He is a free agent after leaving Leeds United last summer. Nouha Dicko is ready to join Rotherham United on loan.
Let’s say Coyle will go for something like this;
Nicholls
Boyce Shotton Barnett Perch
McArthur McCann
Albrighton Powell McClean
Holt20 November 2013 at 2:58 pm #123606Don’t think it will be
He seems to have his favourite league line up sorted so I would expect to see:
Rogne instead of Shotton
Watson instead of McArthur &
McManaman instead of McLean
Fortune instead of HoltThat line up also sees all bar one of the players involved with internationals rested ahead of the Zulte game next Thursday & I think that player (Powell) will be rested for that one instead
20 November 2013 at 3:25 pm #123609I’m sure that we will continue to see team rotation until beyond Christmas, though I haven’t really identified a League team and a ‘midweek’ team.
And we may have another forward soon, Will Keane. We should then have enough players to meet the challenge.
The draw for the Third Round of the FA Cup should take place on 8 December too!
20 November 2013 at 9:07 pm #123611James McClean seems to have recovered from the dead leg that forced him out of the last league fixture. He managed almost all the ROI’s game on Fri, being man of the match, and was a 2nd half substitute last night.
If he’s in form and fit, then I’d be surprised if he didn’t start in the league game.
20 November 2013 at 11:07 pm #123612Good of you to take an interest, Mutty.
22 November 2013 at 6:54 pm #123625England U21 forward Will Keane has also gone back to train with Manchester United after spending the last week with Southgate’s squad following his return to fitness.
A loan has been postponed awaiting an examination of his injury.
