Think them odds will drop often today’s result.
Great performance today and difficult to pick a motm as all played well. I like Paul cooks football philosophy, keep it simple and get it forward. Bury were good in first half but ran out of steam and we were too strong and too good for them in second half.

We were outstanding. We conceded a goal to a player that we had no idea would be playing for them today, Paul will have gone through the set piece defence routines yesterday and this week….how can you prepare to mark, or man mark a player you have no idea will be playing for them? I think that’s the way to look at that goal.
Our play was positive, looking to go forward and our 2 central midfielders, Evans and Morsy, ran things. Jacobs and Massey were lively, as we’re the overlapping full backs. Toney did really well, good flick ons and hold up play. Powell scored 2 yet hardly seemed to leave third gear…I mean that in a complimentary way. The back 2 were solid really…the only slight was the soft goal.

My two young boys said they really enjoyed the game.

The fans overall reaction was spot on. Standing ovation and a huge clap off at the end.

Play like that for most of the season and we will be promoted by March. Well done lads. Crowd was disappointing. As my dad rightly said “when we’ve won 3 or 4 games, they’ll come crawling back”. Fickle gets.

        Superb today.

Whilst i am over the moon with the win, i personally, was more impressed with watching a wigan team play simple, yet attacking, quick & exciting football. Something which irrespective of what league we are/were in, was lacking enormously under joyce & caldwell last season.

Whilst i don’t want to get too carried away, keep hold of powell, burn, morsy & grigg & we should have a memorable season.

We’ll trounce them. 3-0 roared on by 6254 triumphant Latics fans in a crowd of 7546.

Well glad I was miles out, less away fans and more home fans than my prediction with an Attendance of 9,159 with 1,163 travelling supporters.

Pretty decent crowd really. That looks like we must have sold around 7,500 season tickets.

I noticed in the papers that the average crowd for league 1 over the weekend was around the 8000 mark. Blackburn i think had the biggest at over 12000. So 9000+ is decent.

If we keep up the performances that we have been doing, i could see us getting to 10000 – 11000.

Possible for the odd game against Bradford or Blackburn if they are doing well but the pay on day prices will limit travelling support as well as the home support.
Where did the Rovers crowd come from? They struggled getting that last season.
Match day is £22-00 there less a discount if you’re a member and ST are slightly more than ours. Unless they kicked the season off with special kids offers

We averaged just shy of 9.5k last time we were in league 1. If we keep playing for the rest of the season like we have done in the first 3 games we should top that no problem.
