he should of already fooked off fa cup is taking away the truth its his third year at wigan and apart from this year in the fa cup are we any better off NO been bottom nearly all last season and this this is Martinez team he has bought and play the way he wants them to play
Two key moments link to James McArthur – his header at QPR and today’s shot, both at key moments in the game and we failed to take them. Very concerning that in 180 minutes we’ve looked lacking in confidence when we get to the box.
Some shite written on here, he should have fooked off? And who else would have taken over and progressed us?
The guy is working with smallest budget in league, is very forward thinking unlike say bruce by being the driving force behind developing an academy and new training facilities, which will reap rewards and hopefully provide talent and ultimately income in the medium to long term. He is the face of the club, promotes it very well and genuinely cares about it unlike most journeymen characters that we could have had.
He ain’t perfect, if he was he’d be managing Real Madrid. The grass ain’t always greener and I for one will continue to support and back him. I think some need to calm down, we have lost one game, survival is very much in our own hands and we have a cup final to look forward to. If we go down then so be it – it’s what happens in football, we will get over it and I for one will be hoping bob would stay to lead us back up.

McArthur has come on as substitute in the last five games when the team has been struggling. And each time he has pulled the team together to produce a better performance.
But he doesn’t come on as a goal scorer. He stabilises midfield and gives McCarthy more freedom. If he could score too when he comes on, then he would be a real super-sub.
If he has such an effect on the team as a substitute, then perhaps he should be in the starting eleven.
Goal scoring has been a problem all season, but it can be easily solved. All we need is a player who can take his chances – like Robin van Persie on a good day.
Much prefer another Willie Nelsen number – ” dream come true” . Experiencing the last 8 years has been just that. Hope it goes on but if not no tears from me just gratitude.
Wiganblu42 – you’re right. Wigan have done better in the Cup this season but still struggled in the league. Perhaps the two are connected.
So many fans complained about the weak teams that Martinez turned out for the cup. But the team turned in a sensational display in the first half at Everton.
Now we know why Martinez made such modest efforts in the cups – he knew that it would be difficult to win games in two competitions.
It would be ironic if Wigan’s first appearance in the FA Cup Final was accompanied by relegation from the Premier League.
I’m hoping that Wigan can keep pace with Aston Villa and play for a place in the Premier League in the last game of the season again.
very strange but what would the betting have been for wigan to get in prem league and in first season get to league cup final lose 4-o to manu
last eight years in prem league then in last season get into FA cup final against the other manchester club and another 4-0 hiding
what a price that would have been
