m_a – my point is Scotland is playing up on his own and being asked to do a lot without much support. Bent, King etc played off Heskey who won everything in the air and did all their work for them. All they had to do was realise they just needed to get within 10 yards of Heskey every time the ball was played up, and they’d get on the end of something in time. Owen did it for years at Liverpool its not rocket science. That makes the likes of them (and I don’t remember King ever scoring in open play) far worse players than Scotland, who puts in a lot of effort for the team in my book.

Wake up Bobby, good strikers don’t go 18 games without a goal. Fact. I don’t care how many chances he’s made for himself, or how hard he works. The bottom line is he hasn’t scored. And considering he’s our only striker if Roberto is determined to play Rodders on the wing, is quite worrying. I said even before Scotland came he’d be shi.te, and guess what I’m right.
Players prime at about 27, agreed? Well when he was 27, he was playing in the Scottish Division 2, which is League1 standard at highest. Now he is older, fatter and even worse. And yet he still makes it into our team.
P.S As shown again on Saturday, my point about N’Zogbia needing to be on the left and Hugo up front was prooved. Zog goes down the left, puts a cross in, and Hugo nods it in. And yes, Scotland probably would have missed that chance.
He is nowhere near as bad as Aghahowa was.

was it that point when Bob had made the change ,that we scored and looked like we could take the lead,seemed to work to me.Not going to join the Scotland debate, but what I will say is that I have never known any team or any club in the world of football to deliberately have a non-scoring centre forward or number 9 playing for them. Traditionally, a centre forward is the main goalscoring threat.
I’ve nothing against Scotland. In fact, I think he might be trying TOO hard. Maybe if he can net a goal, the weight will be off his shoulders?
But fan of him or not, you really need your centre forward to be scoring, or at least going very close to.
