      Next up Hull.

After that bummer of a result and our last ever visit to Griffin Park, what can we look forward to against Hull at DW?

Those magnificent 1000 travelling fans who went south to Brentford should be rewarded for their efforts with another exciting but more satisfying game on Tuesday night.

Hull now in 17th position but on Saturday were 1 place above the relegation zone hopefully isn’t going to lull us all into a sense of false security. Hull are 1 place above QPR. Aston Villa are 1 place below us, and we all know what happened at Loftus Road and Villa Park. Not again please, Paul Cook.

Results are pretty equal but they do weigh slightly in our favour, winning 9, drawing and losing 6. Important and memorable scorers include Ben Watson and Steve Ghohouri (RIP). Others by Zaki, Heskey (who used to be sh**e) and Valencia. On the Zaki occasion luckily “the worst professional I’ve worked with” bothered to turn up; he scored 2.

Still in their recovery phase are Dan Burn is Superman and Gavin Massey. With no other injuries Cook has a pretty full squad to select from. I wonder if it will be time for a bit of rotation, or is he sticking with the ‘tried and tested’ in an aim to consolidate our position near the top of the table.

Having said that there is likely to be an enforced change following the straight red to Sam. It seems as the decision may be a bit contentious, so we’ll see if Cook appeals. Certainly from my angle in the sitting room at home it looked like an innocent, unintentional but thumping collision of the heads as both players missed the ball going for a header. A bit like wilderbeast sparring over a local female. Maybe next time Sam should fall like a dying lion shot by a dentist and the other guy would get sent off. There is always a learning point.

25 minutes after sunset, under the bright flood lights of the DW the team will make their way out onto the verdant verdant verona green pitch to the mighty roar of the expectant (9057) fans. Under the forecast of broken clouds and first quarter of the moon, always a time for celestial blessings and good luck, giraffe like I’m sticking my neck out and predicting a 4 – 0 win. Jacobs, Kipre, Grigg and someone else. It’ll be another high tempo game with plenty of attacking. Robinson will be surging forward frequently with the ball super glued to his toe. Kipre and James will be back and forth. Powell will look indulgently relaxed. Vaughan will be like a 13 year old after too much tatrozine. Wigan are planning on adding to Hull’s woes, who have only won 2 game so far.

As for Hull we can expect Marshall to be marshalling his goal line; are we going to see one of our underrated and under used players Nouha Dicko after a great spell at Wolves; amazingly I see that Hull have none other than Kane in their ranks; I assume it is Harry. Since relegation funds have been less and I see they have an aged Kingsley in mid-field, Ben I assume, last seen playing Mahatma Ghandi in the film Ghandi in 1982.

It was only 10 years ago that Dean Windass came on as substitute for Hull, against us. He didn’t score on that occasion, but lets hope that his son can change that bit of history with a scorcher of a goal similar to the one his Dad scored at Wembley to clinch Hull’s promotion to the Prem.

For us I’m expecting; Walton, Robinson, Kipre, Jacobs, James, Macmamamamum, Powell, Grigg, Vaughan, Dunkley, Windass, and Connolly to come on at 45 mins.

David Webb will be swimming around the pitch with his whistle.

PS email Jayt, he edits the Cockneylatic fanzine, I am sure he will be able to find a page or two for a budding journo like you to fill.

Perfect scenario would be be Josh Windass to completely piss his dad off and bag a hat trick.COYL
