Wigan have anounced the signing of Danish midfielder William Kvist. I assume he’s a replacement for McArthur but is he any good? Thoughts?
2 September 2014 at 12:51 am #133315Well he was at Fulham last yr and hasn’t been in Stuttgart side this yr but he’s with Denmark for their game with Turkey.
With a bit of luck he’ll be fit enough and we won’t have to wait too long to find out
2 September 2014 at 2:37 am #133319Can’t say I’ve heard of him before today…Uwe no doubt has been watching him…
His brother Oliver was very greedy..so there’s hope yet for an end to the goal famine :woohoo:

What the Dickens does his brother have to do with it?
2 September 2014 at 9:29 am #133325We do have great expectations of him though.
2 September 2014 at 12:15 pm #133328Here’s hoping there’s no Hard Times ahead for the lad..
2 September 2014 at 2:59 pm #133343His brother Oliver was very greedy..so there’s hope yet for an end to the goal famine :woohoo:But he was a poacher in the box and they taught him how to pick a pocket or two.
2 September 2014 at 3:25 pm #133345We don’t Orphan get danish players
2 September 2014 at 3:34 pm #133346With all the new signings we have a realistic chance of being in a promotion place by the end of the year (if not before!)
That will indeed be time for a Christmas Carol or 2….
You can tell we’re in a good mood about the transfer window, compare that to this time last year

2 September 2014 at 5:34 pm #133354Buying experience players and paying top dollar wages doesn’t work for Wigan, Holt comes to mind. I’m just glad to see us going back to what we’ve done best in the past that’s, signing young ambitious players, who want to improve and play at the highest level. But, while their at Wigan they leave us with priceless memories.
Hats off to DW, it seems that the McArthur money has gone straight back into signing players and their wages.

TBH practically the cash from every player we have sold has gone back into the club somehow which is we have no debts and make a small profit. The fact we are now seemingly able to put money back into the playing side of things shows just how good a job DW has done and continues to do with this club.

Credit to the club on reinvesting in four very promising youngsters despite interest from much bigger clubs with some of the players
just realised we now have FIVE strikers on the books if you include callum as one and I cannot remember the last time that happened if ever!
Good luck to James Mac at Palace although I fear they may be back in the championship next season.3 September 2014 at 12:16 am #133361Yes good luck to James Mc at Palace..he’ll need it to avoid the drop.
Always welcome back if it doesn’t work out. He wants to play in the top league and fair play to him.
The squad is looking strong. Does that give Herr Tinkerman more scope to rotate?
Pick your best 11 Uwe…make the rest fight for their places.
Who are our best 11 though? We don’t know on here so who are we to question the boss?
