I don’t know if a topic has been started on this but which one either win the fa cup and go down or stay up and lose in semis or final, or both ? I would love both to happen and it can happen but whether it will is another question !

We’ll get beat in final, but be in Europe, and I think stay up, just, I think one of villa or Sunderland are going down.

Stay up all day long. As amazing as itd be lifting the cup we wouldnt be that better off.
Staying up this season will secure us for the next 20years and also a european campaign and a chance for our contract ending players to resign.. the euphoria will not make up for us playing doncaster on a tuesday night in december and so on.. head over ruling heart on this 1

I ‘ve always thought the League was the big one. So I’ve always thought staying in the PL was number one objective…till now…

The football world will very quickly forgot us getting relegated…or if we stay up on goal difference.

If we win the cup, the name of Wigan Athletic will be a football legend the world over (if it isn’t already :P )

The moment we drew Millwall, I became convinced we would win the cup..whoever we play (ManUre preferred!!). No team has ever won the cup and been relegated…every record gets broken eventually :dry:

Definitely FA Cup, considering our recent record in the FA cup and the chances of another cup run with an easy’ish type of run-in ever happening again is very unlikely.

Winning the FA cup goes into your history, non reversible, going down can be reversed.

He offered to give the club away to anyone willing to invest £100 million into the club so I doubt he will be able to sell at all if we go down.

Looks like the Whelans are stuck with us for now :cheer:
