I’d take getting to the final, losing the final and staying up over winning the cup and going down.
Getting to Europe and staying up would be huge for retaining players and attracting some in the summer.
27 March 2013 at 5:26 pm #106428I’d take getting to the final, losing the final and staying up over winning the cup and going down. This would be my ideal scenario too short of winning the cup and staying up.
Putting that aside my heart says win the FA cup and my head says stay in the PL.
27 March 2013 at 5:43 pm #106433I’ve said it before. That moment watching the captain of your club turn round, kiss the trophy and hold it aloft stays with you.
Whilst we need the money, we also need to take the next step and that imo is winning a major trophy. I want us to stay up of course I do but I would love us to win the cup which as someone said can NEVER be taken away.
I would settle for Europe and survival though but I really want the FA Cup to be in the DW trophy cabinet come May 13th.
27 March 2013 at 9:29 pm #106458Let the powers that be worry about the coffers, and which division were in.
That’s not the fans job. Our job is to support the team through thick and thin and hope and pray that our wildest dreams will come through and well win something.
FA CUP all day every day for me.27 March 2013 at 10:28 pm #106459The payments from the Premier League shoot up next season. So the next level will be the Premier League next season.
Do you really want to dream of the Cup Final win when you’re travelling to Grimsby?
27 March 2013 at 10:38 pm #106461The cup for me the memories will last a life time, nobody will ever be able to take the glory away, and if we can bounce straight back up having gone through the whole season unbeaten well that will do for me.
27 March 2013 at 10:50 pm #106462Yes, the Portsmouth fans must read their history books and think that it was well worth it.We’re in a differnt position completely from Portsmouth. Thanks, it must be said, to DW.
And we may be at Grimsby. But midweek going to Europe? Now that I could cope with.
Not only for the fact that Grimsby is another ground I could tick off the list :)

Been there, done that and quite enjoyed it too.
Like I said I’ll let the powers that be worry about our finances.
I’m a football fan.

heard off a lot of people that if we dropped down, our away following would increase because people think its better in lower leagues

And fans in Maribor and Kharkiv are dreaming of a Thursday night out in Wigan!
28 March 2013 at 6:14 pm #106554FA cup all day long.
We are so close to having a fantastic memory of our club achieving something. Struggling in the prem does not make me smile (as much as the cup final)
Interesting topic this one, this FA cup run hasn’t arf galvanised this board. Plenty of happy posters since we beat Everton

29 March 2013 at 12:35 pm #106609Bobbys inevitable departure eh? Where is he going exactly? After turning down Liverpool last year I dont see a better offer coming in. Unless working under Bill Kenwright at Everton is seen as the next step?
29 March 2013 at 1:42 pm #106613He’s a wanted man – at Aston Villa or Sunderland, perhaps? He could go anywhere in Europe too.
But Premier League survival and cup success, together with the new training ground, could see him stay. I’m quite optimistic.
29 March 2013 at 2:43 pm #106620He’s turned down Villa twice and if he goes to Sunderland he’s crazy. Top 4 or big European club I could accept. Not sure what form they would want him on but if he can wangle a top job on the back of relegation scrap after relegation scrap good luck to the lad.
