15 February 2013 at 10:54 pm #103388Stuff it , I want both.!! Why not ? Isn’t this sport about winning ? FA cup final and prem status renewed again .Another one in the eye for the media and football snobs .
15 February 2013 at 11:09 pm #103389Stay up definately but I would love to see the lads walk out at Wembley as well.
Stay up and get to the semis.
Anything else would be a bonus for me.
15 February 2013 at 11:34 pm #103391We will never loose”its a rugby town” the journos and tv pundits cant help there selfs,so millions across the world will hear this.It comes on tv at 3.30 on sundat it will be 3.45 when it gets saidPerhaps not but we’re getting there and the longer we stay in the top flight the more diluted this “rugby town” perception will become. Before our rise to the Premiership any success we had that merited the BBC or ITV doing a “piece” on us always included reference to Wigan being a rugby town – the infamous Maurice Lindsay interview being a typical example – to the point where it was difficult to tell which club was being highlighted. At least we don’t suffer that any more.

We should be playing the strongest team possible in every match, and going out to try to win every single match.
With a strong side there is no reason why we can’t win the FA Cup, and we are certainly good enough to stay up if we get our act together.15 February 2013 at 11:39 pm #103393I wonder if Bradford have been called a rugby city because of the success of the Bradford Bulls ! All I have heard is well done Bradford this and well done Bradford that and not one mention of the Bradford Bulls !

16 February 2013 at 4:00 pm #103413The truth is that Wigan has never ever been a rugby town.More people watch football albeit other clubs than their own.More people have football season tickets than for egging. The daft game hasnt been played at grass roots level in this town for that long whereas football has always thrived.True the Cherry and Shites have been very successful and won everything but more numbers have always either supported and played football than for rugby and even if they dont follow Wigan Athletic they are still Wiganers. So really to say that Wigan is a rugby town is a bigger misconception than the old to be a city you need a cathederal.I pride myself on the fact that I never set foot on Menstal Park because im a football fan and have supported this club for 40 odd years.
People say that Wigan is a rugby town.
People also think that Wigan really has a Pier.
16 February 2013 at 4:20 pm #103414No contest,staying in the Premier League.
16 February 2013 at 4:49 pm #103415Premier League for me too.
This talk of Europe seems a bit of a red herring. If we ever got there methinks that it’ll end with our reserve team in a qualifying round at the beginning of July, somewhere in deepest Belarus against a team we’ve never heard of. We won’t be going to Ajax or Benfica.

17 February 2013 at 6:20 pm #103493Wakey wakey …!! Europe my A**e.Can you imagine Robbies team selections against er…Benfica ? He’ll still feel a need to give the fringe players a chance as ” we have an important Prem game against cardiff in 2 weeks time “.Europe dream starts today at Huddersfield .You have to make it happen not play a weakened side and HOPE it happens. And does he really need to keep assessing the fringe players ?Surely he now knows after some lightweight performances what they are capable of.Just get out there and win the damn game !!!
18 February 2013 at 12:16 am #103500Er wakey wakey who gives a shiny if it’s Benfica or some Belarussians away.
Latics in Europe, I know who’d be there and it would be proper
