I think that the reason that Wolves won the game was the negative formation playing 2 DMFs at home and the fact that we gave you no time on the ball which forced you to go long and played into our hands.
in my opinion your best player was Jordi Lopez but weakest was Bramble or Koumas
I think that we deserved our victory, even thougth SS went close with a header at the end was very impressed with our fight and passion
overall Man of the Match Andy Keogh

good luck for the rest of the season (apart from when you come Molineux of cource)

was wondering what your opiions was on Wolves and our fans?

Worst performance we’ll see for a while I think.

Just one of those games nothing falls for you.

You went 1-0 up early and went 110% defence for the rest of the game. The plan worked and you got the win but on another day we could have quite easily won the game with the chances we missed.

Gomez had a decent game along with Thomas. Bramble was awful, as was the majority of our team although I thought Koumas wasn’t as bad as others (such as N’Zogbia).

My personal opinion of your team and fans is that you’re a defensive team who tries to hold onto wins (will work against some teams, not against others – as you may have seen at Sunderland last night). You brought around 4,000 last night which is a good following (not even close to some of the followings we get at the DW from the away team) but for a Tuesday night it was good (although it was your 1st away game of the season). You were pretty quiet when singing compared to alot of teams in the PL and although you were 1-0 for the majority of the game apart from a few songs your support (in terms of volume) was pretty average.

Not as excited about the Utd game on Saturday now but I would have give a loss last night to beat them this weekend so lets just hope last night was a blip and it wasn’t the Villa game that was a one off!

I dont know what game you watched last night but to say this is pretty unbelievable

      chances we missed ?

i dont recall the wolves goalkeeper making a save the whole match they out thought and out fought us all night they pushed us back and had 3 defenders on us every time we had the ball, and our players had no answer except to bramble hoofing diagonal balls straight into touch on at least 6 occasions, once again kumas was totally anonamous, something he has been in his whole time with us,brown did his one good game then back to mediocrity act, gomez despite plenty ball had no substance and thomas let the game go over his head,

the worse thing though when teams adopt that formation against a team like us who can only pass in front of the defence, someone has to do one of two things, run with the ball and take a defender out of position or make a clinical defence splitting pass to WILLING RUNNERS,the worry for me last night was martinez could not see this and we dont seem to have the personnel to implement it.

Well done for last night. You did the basics right and could have won by more.

Your supporters were loud and rude and that’s what we expect when a team is beating us.

I think you have the battling spirit and the players to stay up, but it might be a long season.

Wolves team was good, but boy do I wish we had fans with your passion, our ‘support’ is shocking

you played well last night, Andy keogh was best man on pitch by a mile, also that mancienne was very good. considering you had 4 or 5 first teamers out you might not get a better result than that for a while and credit must be given where credit is due, probably the hardest working team to come to JJB (DW) for 5 years but you also played some decent stuff and the penalty was the most blatant penny not given i have seen in ages, probably since we had three turned down at highbury in carling cup semi final. To be honest the game could have gone either way, you could have won by a few or we could have nicked something which probably would have been a tad harsh on you. You will be OK this season.
As for youre fans- A great turnout for a tuesday night, probably double what we could have gathered. It was youre first away in the prem though and i would have expected a good turn out from you, always been a well supported club.Noise wise you were good but not excellent when that end has been packed by the scoucers, geordies,Maccams, pompey, Mancs and even preston and burnley believe me it was twice as loud, not having a dig as being a latics fan its hard to criticise anyones support. You were quiet for large parts and only got a couple of songs going what raised the roof_ When keogh went off.Allthough i think we can put the quietness down to nerves with it being first win and all that.

What I meant by it was the ‘chances’ we missed.

Let me point them out (apologies if I miss any):

Bramble – free header from corner, completely un-marked.
N’Zogbia – one on one with the keeper.
Scharner – 90th minute, one on one with keeper.
Sinclair – right at end, someone pointed this out to me, I must have already left.
            Gomez – 2 shots deflected.

            Was there more?

Still, there’s a few that we missed which we may have taken on another day but we didn’t create enough!

              I’ll add to that alex…

What about when the Wolves keeper fumbled the ball from a cross (or maybe it was a corner) and it fell to I THINK N’Zogbia about a yard out.

Instead of staying composed and maybe taking a touch inside before shooting.. he instead went for it first time when there was 2 defenders sliding in at him and hit it straight at them.

And if loudmouthblue doesn’t class that N’Zogbia 1-on-1 as working the keeper then there’s something seriously wrong.

                I dunno about that…
When the ref went over I thought he was gonna award a medal for amateur dramatics.
A blatant dive… the Wigan fans in my stand (to the left of the Wolves fans) could see it was a clear attempt to con the ref.

your clutching at straws ,as i said i cant remember the wolve keeper making a save-you have pointed out the one he did do-whoopy fuckin doo
wolves had at least 10 of the ‘half chance misses’ like the 5 that some one pointed out latics had.

the point is we tested their keeper once and the faults that,if not cured quickly will result in us having a long season of relegation struggle again.

                Official stats from BBC

Attempts on goal Wigan 18 Wolves 9
On target Wigan 5 Wolves 3

Have to be honest though not may really stretched their keeper.

There are lies, damned lies and statistics. I’ve seen more than enough matches and match stats to realise that the stats tell half a story at best. Our finishing remains as woeful this season as it was last. If we’re playing with one up, we desperately need the midfield to chip in constantly. Yesterday was bitterly disappointing (including all the frigging roadworks I had to avoid), but I’m just hoping it was a one-off and that Bobby, and, more importantly, the team will learn and adapt.

The comment made about the wolves fans having passion is very misleading. It’s dead easy to sing and be boisterous when your team are winning from just a few minutes into the game and the other team look clueless.
For the record we totally outsang the Villa fans on saturday, giving it the ” shall we sing a song for you” routine and there were 35, 000 of the bleeders and only about 1000 of us.
All footy supporters are very fickle and I bet all my life savings that the wolves fans would have been just as quiet as we were if they had lost a goal early on and were playing as bad as we were.
I seem to remember a very qiuiet Mollyneux when we thrashed them a few seasons back when Ellington banged one in from long range. Thats fotball, thats fans, thats not passion.

I thought the one on one was Rodallega (may be mistaken) and they did outplay us…Think the first post back was a bit insulting to Wolves fans…they did outplay us and deserved the win…not to say im not disapointed in our performance…think N;zogbia played OK though despite peoples criticisms….and think Keoghs ‘dive’ was a penalty but didn’t deserve to be given as i have seen the replays and he was jumping to the floor and almost crying before Bramble even started his slide tackle…(Cheating faggot)…but fair play to wolves…fought as hard as any team i have seen at the JJB for a while (DW sorry)…And also played decent stuff…should easily survive.

One last thing…whoever said Mancienne was good, he wasnt and isnt, he is so naive its unbelievable…if someone goes past him he takes them down(or rugby tackles them), did it to N’zogbia vs chelsea (last season), did it whilst playing for england U21’s and did it last match.
He also looks very female and feminine
