Now not wishing to come over as sexist or anything but I may have mentioned before that I am not a fan of women’s footy! It is in my opinion dire to watch and littered with petty ‘Schoolboy errors’ ( Can I say ‘boy’ ? ) It is however a growing sport and maybe in time it will improve but I got to thinking the other day, how far down the men’s football ladder would you have to go to in order to accommodate the female English national side in an evenly matched game? I personally think that the school team that I played in back in the final year of school could have beaten the current women’s England team! Is the women’s game really that far behind? I say this because I have heard some people saying that women should be allowed to play professional football!

Disclaimer- I am in no way whatsoever a sexist!

I too am no fan of women’s football, and have never been to a game myself, nor do I have any particular plans to.

However the odd bits (I said ‘bits’) of games I have seen on TV show that the game certainly has improved from say 20 years ago when it was all a bit “girly”.

I don’t quite agree that a men’s team of a reasonable level would always beat for example England Ladies. The gap is narrowing, but I don’t think it will ever close entirely.

And I don’t think the current Latics squad would beat the Convent School Under-12s.

Here’s one picture I colourised in the past. Enjoy the picture ;)
