16 June 2014 at 3:03 pm #131871Rugby league men calling a nondescript little tournament played between 3 countries that only actually have a regional competition and a couple of south pacific islands, ‘the word cup’

You tell me, better still name me the other nations that give this nonsense of a sport legitimacy to call a competition ‘the rugby league world cup’ – flaming hell those notorious insular sports of baseball, basketball and American football are played professionally in more places than the M62 game.

To be honest the baseball “World Series” has less legitimacy.

Ah the biggest misconception in sport. The World Series, as it was financially backed by “The World” newspaper, one of America,s biggest papers it would seem to me to be the only name it could be called. Before the darts world split into 2 championships the biggest prize in the sport was winning “The News Of The World” title. The name has never meant that it was the World Baseball Championship just the name of the backers. Daft and typically American but obvious as well.

20 June 2014 at 4:41 am #131928These wonderful new stadiums they’ve spent a few quid on. There’s not one where the crowd are right on top of the action. The front row seats seem miles away and very high up.
And the size of the ID badges the managers/officials have to wear.
