Chaps, I am running a prediction competition for the World Cup. I have potentially around 15-20 places available if anyone is interested. All the relevant info can be found at the above link.
Entry fee is £5 with £1 of that going to Joseph’s Goal. At press we have around 80 confirmed entrants with a prize fund of £320 and £80 going to charity.
To enter you must:-
a) be able to email a completed entry form to chrisgriffinsays@gmail.com
b) make arrangements to get the £5 entry fee to me via Paypal or bank transfer…
Thanks JR, and apologies for confusing you. It’s been a long day, and it isn’t even over yet!
No probs Griff as long as I’m up and running.
I never do well in these things, but the husband of a girl who works for me was in the top 10 of the daily mirror fantasy dream team all last season. There are literally hundreds of thousands of players in that and it’s top prize money.

Don’t build your hopes up! About £400 up for grabs and £100 to Joseph’s Goal
I have downloaded the excel entry form, filled in the group stage, added my information at the top, when I tried to ‘save as’ it would not let me as it is a password protected file, my information was deleted although the predictions stayed.
How do we submit the form other than printing and scanning it, also what is the address for the paypal payment.

Come on, let’s see if we can get this up to at least 100 entrants and raise £100 for this great cause.
If anybody wants to enter but can’t be arsed reading through all the blurb at this stage, or wrestling with the Excel spreadsheet like LMB ;), I can make it easier for you. All you need to do:
1) Cut and paste the following fixture list into an email
2) Add an H, D or A (Home, Draw, Away) at the end of each fixture
3) send it to chrisgriffinsays@gmail.com including your real name (I won’t tell anyone!) and a contact number
4) We can then make arrangements for you to make your £5 entry fee payment by Paypal or bank transfer

We are into the 90s now in terms of number of entrants. I’d love to get over 100 before tonight’s 5pm deadline. It’s for a charity that is close to all our hearts. Come on, dig deep!
That’s a bit strange, no-one else has had an issue. I’ve emailed you a copy and the Paypal instructions.
I must have been doing something wrong I has let me save it now.
Your entry is safely logged.
Thanks
I wasn’t struggling understanding an exel spreadsheet it just would not save the updated file, I have now found out that this was because your version of Excel is a newer one than mine, once I realised that it was simple.
Griff can I enter via email today and pay tonight as I don’t know my PayPal account details will have to get the girlfriend to do it be about 6?
Yes, that’s fine.
It’s the predictions I need today by 5pm (obviously so I can process them before the whole thing kicks off) but I am happy to let payment slide for a day or so.
If someone enters and the doesn’t pay I can easily kick them out before we get too far in ;)
I am sorry to hijack this thread slightly and I don’t want to take anything away from this competition as its in a good cause and you can also win a bob or two, but if anyone wants to take part in a standard prediction comp we are doing one over on Vital as well if anyone would like to join in.
It is free to enter, you just predict the games outcome every day, if you predict a correct result ie draw or s win for the team you choose you get 2 points, a correct score gets an additional 5 point bonus, we will play this during the group stages as a straight forward league, the top 16 will qualify for the knockout stage where a draw will be made and you play directly against one other in straight knock out all the way to the final.
We have a ‘trophy’ for the winner and a few other prizes, if griff or Standish enters they have the chance to win a copy of their own book ‘Arsed’ which is one of the prizes.

Just been over to VL to look at the prizes and think that’s a bit mean. 3rd prize is a copy of Arsed and 4th prize is 2 copies of Arsed.
