      I see that Espinoza (why did he get subbed against Forest?) and Beausejour both helped their teams to wins… they could very well be in the World Cup hat…

      Unlike our Scottish and Irish contingent.

      FA Cup Winners 2013, sounds good that

      And there are several other players – including Garcia, Fyvie, Maloney, McArthur and McClean – in international squads for games this weekend and in the coming midweek.

      When they get home, they will continue with this tough schedule;

      Championship Leicester v Wigan Sat 14 Sep 15:00
      Europa League Zulte-Waregem v Wigan Thu 19 Sep 18:00
      Championship Wigan v Ipswich Sun 22 Sep 15:00
      League Cup Man City v Wigan Tue 24 Sep 19:45
      Championship Watford v Wigan Sat 28 Sep 15:00
      Europa League Wigan v NK Maribor Thu 3 Oct 20:05
      Championship Wigan v Blackburn Sun 6 Oct 15:00

      They could face nine games in four weeks. And they play Manchester City just two days after Ipswich.

      Then there are difficult runs through November and December too, even if Wigan don’t get past Manchester City in the League Cup. There could be some very tired legs after Christmas.

      And if Holt recovers from injury, he could soon be called up for England to join his former Rochdale partner Lambert!

        Shaun Maloney scored the winner last night for Scotland from a free kick. James McArthur (can be seen wearing the #18 shirt in the still) came on as a 77th minute sub.

        James McClean came on as a substitue for Ireland in their 1-0 defeat to Austria. James McCarthy and Connor Sammon also featured.

        Jean Beausejour came on as an 86th minute sub for Chile who led 2-1 against Spain. They drew 2-2. I won’t lay the blame at the feet of Jean but I will use the question “coincidence?”

          Espinoza had a great game but I think he was starting to get fatigued. He hadn’t played more than about 30 minutes all season so Coyle was probably trying to keep him fresh.
