Lampard out for J.Cole or somebody like that and it isn’t too far from my preferred 11. Would have W.Phillips in too. Not sure which of lennon or Walcott I would remove. If Rooney plays like he did Vs. Japan, get him out too! Don’t want him to become too complaicent.

Lampard is always very average at best for England, when for Chelsea he can score for a laugh.

Most shots in last season world cup and hardly any goals, all he does when he gets it is shoot…Normally not very good. Don’t think he is that good anyway.

He should be our penalty taker though, he’s very good at dead ball situations.
I would swap Adam Johnson for Cole on the wing and then play Crouch up front with Rooney playing off him, or Gerrard with Milner/Lampard as the need arose. You can’t play Gerrard and Lampard in the same time otherwise one of them has to play the holding role and will be wasted – although I think Gerrard is slightly better defensively. Johnson is better than Walcott at any rate, and if Joe Cole isn’t included in any capacity then we have less of a chance – he’s definitely our most technical player and our best asset in 2006.
People keep going on about Hart not having any experience, but he looks like the kind of person who would relish the prospect of playing in these massive games. Give him the chance I say, it’s just a matter of hoping that he can command the defence as well as someone with more experience like James would, as some of the senior players may not give him as much respect – it’s just the way things go.
I can’t believe somebody earlier actually put Carragher in their starting 11…He is honestly not very good! Nowhere near international level..and is a moaning @rsehole!
