Well spotted Michael. Very observant. My next line up will be School Teachers Past And Present From the Poulton Le Fylde Area Still Obsessed With Ozzie After All These Years.

Solid central defence I see ! Do I get the captains arm band ?I want a team of captains fil. I want you all to be big men with puffed out chests, wearing your heart on your sleeve and using newspapers for shinpads (not shinguards as they are called today). I want bandages for tie ups and i want you all to snarl, swear and spit on your way out the tunnel. I want intimidation of the highest order, good football on the pitch, 2 footed tackles, the occasional stray elbow, the pulling of opponents shirts, surround the referee whenever a decision doesn`t go your way and i`d like you to jump in the crowd and plant a sickening punch on any fans jaw who dares to give you grief. When the game is over i want you all to jump in the communal bath with a can of Skol in your hand,a cig in your mouth, and to sing jovial songs. A customary wank of the player sitting to your right but done in a manly hetro fashion. That`s how to make a team of winners !

not an obsession chap merely an observation. You took care in mentioning other, notable, past persona’s (I even saw Little Wigan in there amongst them)and to bring this up after all this time, I now think that you are now the one stalking me (whoever you are).
As for your next team selection I have no idea of how you will go about getting that together (me having a WN6 postcode and all that), however, I do have a very good friend who lives in Thornton (I suppose that is close enough) who may do a little bit of ‘digging’ for you.
I’m afraid the only help I could give would be to supply you with 10 other names……..
……….unfortunately that would leave you with only one person covering ten positions. (You would be included within that 10).

I`m afraid i haven`t mentioned Little Wigan once Michael. Unless you know something i don`t know. I seem to remember you claiming that you thought bickymon was Ozzie in a post. You do seem to enjoy mentioning him. I`ve met Ozzie a few times at the match, at Cockneylatic functions, when selling fanzines, even in the bookies and one thing i`ve found is he`s very friendly and always a good laugh. I don`t think he`s ever hid behind his username unlike some people on here. People who are very defensive of Cockneylatic even though they`ve never wrote a page for the fanzine, never sold it, contributed to it or attended an event or the fact that anyone associated with it knows anything about them.

You mentioned him in your ‘subs’ selection – albeit under a different username. As for me thinking bicky was ozzie that must have been a long long time ago…and to be fair you are probably right – he may be a decent chap – I only mentioned his persona as he was a very prolific poster once and as someone who talks like a past performer/contributor I thought it a little remis that you didn’t even include him….as you say you’ve met him a few times.
As for your other cryptic reference – I can only assume you have put 2 and 2 together (somewhere) and come out with 97.

….and it’s opinions like yours that I’m afraid makes me ‘protective’ (unusual choice of words for there are others here who protect it even more vociferously). Quite right……I haven’t sold a mag or wrote a page for the fanzine does that make my contribution to this site any less than those who just ‘lurk’ or post little – call me old fashioned but when exactly was the last published article of said fanzine (you seem to be living in the past and anyone not of your ilk mustn’t be worthy to comment on a public forum ergo (that word again phil) I must be a JCL).
I haven’t ‘slagged off’ anyone from other sites (there have been a few who have ‘challenged’ what I have said and we have cleared the air with a mutual understanding for the common way forward. I am not alone in speaking my mind here, or indeed anywhere else…..there are more fastidious interlocutors on this board than me and with your tone I suspect you too are ‘barking’ up the wrong tree.
I admit I do like a bit of banter…..sometimes it can get loud but in the end I always respect the input even from those I disagree with after all this is what makes for good rapport (a ‘luv in’ is not what I’m after at all).
The 2+2=97 was your comparison between me and Humphrey Bogart (Maltese Falcon?)……… :dry:
