I’m ever the Optimist and going for 1 -0 to the Latics; Jason Kerr scoring !
29 December 2024 at 10:18 am #204640Wrexham keep getting the job done even when not playing well….recently had 4 1 nils on trot……promotion form I suppose. Still believe I haven’t seen any super team in this league…and those four 0-0’s.we had end Sept/Early October could have put us in a whole different position had we shown a bit more aggression..Depends which Wigan turn up. I’ve felt all week we can upset them today …I’ll be there so it’s 1-3 for me. Same applies to Huddersfield…..I went and as poor as we were they were bang average too…..
29 December 2024 at 7:05 pm #204642Wrexham very lucky today and our bogey player Fletcher who must have been itching to be on given the amount of goals he has scored against Latics over the years at the zillion clubs he has played for.
One of those days today but pushed a team with good fortune on their side very close today.
Hopefully the woeful home form can improve going into the new year.29 December 2024 at 8:46 pm #204643I went today and honestly yes we lost today but we can’t ask for much more with the current squad, the best team lost.
If Wrexham go up thinking they’ll survive in the Championship playing like that they’ll go down faster than Linda Lovelace.
That long ball melarky might do you proud in L1 but in the Championship you’ll get eaten alive.
My only criticism was, S.Smith probably had his best game ever in a Latics shirt breaking up play but after we lost Adeeko then Smith moved into the left back position we lost the bite in the middle.
Aasgaard wasn’t at his best and Weir had little affect so we eventually lost that midfield battle in the latter stages. Finally, I’d like to see that Sibbick penalty claim from the corner. To me in realtime it looked like the defender (not looking at the ball) just shoved Sibbick into touch, I might be wrong but thats how I saw it.
But again, although we didn’t get the win we’ve shown again we can compete and only late on goals against Birmingham and Wrexham away have done us.
That’s all I ask compete and if we’re to lose go down trying your best and that’s exactly what we did.
29 December 2024 at 10:09 pm #204645I went and just by pure chance I videod the corner that led to Macleans push on Sibbick….stone wall penalty. Wish I knew how to post it on here. No complaints, great effort just that quality again up top.
30 December 2024 at 10:36 am #204647One guy not far from me absolutely slated Olakigbe all the way through the game calling him sh*te and for Maloney to take him off.
I actually thought he had a good game skinning their right wingback Barnett on numerous occasions and managed to get some half decent balls in.
I didn’t understand the swapping him over considering J.Smith was been doubled up on no doubt Wrexham saw him as the danger man for balls in.
It’s weird how some people see a game, I think they take a disliking to a player and that’s it his cards marked for his time at the club.
Similar happened to Jordi Gomez, a certain element just hated him. I even heard one guy at half time in the Everton game say it was a lucky strike when infact it’s up there as one of the best goals scored by a Latics player
Wierd30 December 2024 at 2:27 pm #204650Have to disagree on this occasion I thought he was piss poor…..numerous times doubled back, took more touches than glitter, and for all his chances to get ball in had a minimal success rate. That’s what football is about…different views.

Exactly my point, he put at least 4 or 5 v.g. balls into the box the one were it came back out to Sibbicks volley,
Then the one were it went to the far post and I think Taylor actually ducked under it, superb ball.
Yes he did cut back inside but he also managed to cross it on a few other occasions, he had their goal scorer Barnett twisting and turning especially in that 1st half
It’s like I say its how you see it, you saw it one way I saw it another
3 January 2025 at 3:28 pm #204683Same result, resulting from not bothering to sign strikers. We are in January now and a right back and winger arrive. What a shit show.
3 January 2025 at 4:11 pm #204684Had it from a reliable source an experienced striker was being unveiled on the 3rd……..surely not classing yet another winger with minimal experience as it ?……How many wingers does he want…..to cross the ball into a vacuum ?????
3 January 2025 at 6:10 pm #204688Rumour is Geldhart to Wrexham on loan but could it be him till the summer ?. Wages would be the sticky point
