Okay, now the dust has settled, did anyone predict we would get more than four points from the Xmas games?
We won at Wolves were a draw was the most I expected, we got a point against Arsenal were none were expected and we lost to Newcastle were perhaps three were expected.
Four points out of the nine available, but gained in a different way than what was expected.
Another difficult match on Wednesday, but who knows a point might be gained.
3 January 2011 at 5:04 pm #54544I thought we should have had 6pts from the 9, Arsenal being the obvious loss ! Its a funny old game !!

I predicted exactly that too. In fact it’s turned out better because three points off Wolves was better than three points off Newcastle.

3 points are 3 points, Do we get a bonus point for beating Wolves or summat

What Sammy’s referring to is a win against Wolves means it’s three points they don’t get. The more points you take off the teams around you means you go up, and keeps them in the relegation zone.
The difference is this season, it’s so tight between 9th and 17th, I don’t think it matters who you take the points off, as long as you get the points.

Purely on the basis that it’s better to take points off your immediate relegation rivals. Should it have been the other way round Wolves would now be above us in the table and we would be in a relegation place.

No further comment.I’ll stick my neck out and predict we will get 8 points from those games in April:
SPURS H – – win
That will put us on the 38 point mark with plenty games left.

2 games. West Ham H and Stoke A. And that’s presuming your prediction of 8 points is correct! I’ll stick my neck out also, and predict we will pick up TWO points in April, with draws against Sunderland and Everton.
In fact, lets look at ALL our remaining games…….
BOLTON A- Lose
FULHAM H- Draw We could really do with 3 points
ARSENAL A- Lose
VILLA H- Draw
ALBION A- Lose Can see them beating us.
BLACKBURN H- Draw Again, 3 point would be good here
LIVERPOOL A- Lose. Good chance possibly, but………
UNITED H- Lose. Always have the better luck against us.
CITY A- Lose. Too much for us, I think.
SPURS H- Lose. Think they’ll turn us over.
CHELSEA A- Lose.
BLACKPOOL A- Lose. Can see a 1-0 defeat.
SUNDERLAND-A- Draw. Nick a point there, possibly.
EVERTON H- Draw. Hard fought 1-1 draw, I reckon.
WEST HAM H- Draw.
STOKE A- Lose.26 points.
Games coming thick and fast now, and they’ll just go so fast.
