Not the best, but against Fulham and with so much at stake it was never going to be. I thought we were slightly the better team then we scored. Can someone who supports Bob tell me what happened after we scored????
We stopped closing them down we sat deep and invited Fulham pressure. Bob had 4 or 5 warnings before they actually scored and did nothing. Even the worst teams will cause you problems if you stand off them and let them play.
Martinez out before it’s too late.
16 January 2011 at 2:54 pm #55699Q – Can anyone tell me the difference between the 2 teams who are in a similar league position?
Cant be bothered waiting around for the answer – so I will give it you
We were the HOME team – slow, ponderous, passing sideways and backwards
They were the AWAY team – quick, counter attacking, got men forward, looked dangerous and generally went for it
A somewhat imbalance me thinks
16 January 2011 at 8:18 pm #55734and having said all that, Rodders could and should have scored at least 4 goals. :o
From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!16 January 2011 at 8:25 pm #55738and having said all that, Rodders could and should have scored at least 4 goals. :oHe’s right though, Jrfatfan. WE looked like the away team, as they were the best side.
17 January 2011 at 12:57 am #55770There’s a good and simple reason for it; they’re a much better team than we are. As are most teams in the league

17 January 2011 at 1:55 am #55778Nothing to do with dark of light. It’s obvious. Any clown who thinks we’re not relegation fodder year after year, regardless of who the manager is, is well… a clown.
Whelan ain’t daft. Get relegated this year, keep the manager – cos that’s his level – get 4 years parachute payments of £48m, and probably come straight back up.
I’ll188 Bet my life that we’ll be sponsored by YoYo by the middle of June. ;)

If we came straight back up surely we would lose the 3 years of parachute payments……..surely sky would,nt pay them on top of the 30 million a year tv money?
17 January 2011 at 2:09 am #55781Don’t know, you’re probably right – but he still won’t lose money, in real terms. Players with relegation salary reduction clauses, come straight back up, back on the Prem money!!! Happy days, he can’t lose really.
Anyway, it’s all just designed to pi$$ off Bickymon. And it certainly seems to be working ;)
17 January 2011 at 12:20 pm #55793I was actually talking about this on Saturday.
I get the feeling Whelan WANTS us to go down.
Why?
Because if we picked up a £20 million Parachute payment, and then sold the likes of N’Zogbia, Rodallega, Figueroa, and Alcaraz, we would probably break just about even withe the debts we have. This would then allow Whelan to sell us and walk away with the money, rather than paying the debts off.
I also think they BELIEVE we will go down, and that is why we still haven’t signed Al-Habsi, and will not sign anybody in this transfer window. I think they are reluctant to sign anybody on a contract, not knowing what league we will be in.

I think your onto something there Vat, and I’ll take it one step further it’s why Boselli has been loaned out to get him off the wage bill. May be he did not have a clause in his contract were his wages were affected by relegation. Bob says six months away will do him good IMO we wont see him play for Wigan again.

Yeah, we discussed that as well, and said the same thing. £38,000 a week. We’ll still be paying a chunk of that, but yes, I thnk you are right. No matter what Martinez says, Boselli won’t play for us again. Dr Spin says he’s gone “..to get his form back for next season” and yet Genoa say it’s with a “…view to a permanent deal”. Somebody is telling us porkies….
What a shambles, eh? Deary me……
I think NZogbia will be gone in the next couple of weeks, as well. We might bring in a loan signing. Probably some unheard of Spaniard, to go alongside the ‘hurried’ return of McCarthy and Moses who will be quoted by ‘Dr Spin’ as being like “new signings” (spin). Di Santo? Forget him. There’s more goals in me, than him!
