Gary Roberts on 12 month loan.
Sounds another signing like Noel Hunt this one. A mate of the manager getting another 12 months out of the game.
May be ok for back up. Who knows!30 August 2017 at 2:56 am #161615Not just a midfielder – he’s really a winger/attacking midfielder, so more forward looking than just a “midfielder”
30 August 2017 at 11:02 am #161619A crap signing though. Journeyman at the end of his career who is surplus to what Portsmouth need as he is past it. Along with Hunt these are just jobs for Cooks mates and drinking pals.
Not needed in a forward journey either of them.30 August 2017 at 12:15 pm #161621A crap signing though. Journeyman at the end of his career who is surplus to what Portsmouth need as he is past it. Along with Hunt these are just jobs for Cooks mates and drinking pals.
Not needed in a forward journey either of them.Could be that the gaffer is shaping his long term support staff.
30 August 2017 at 12:29 pm #161622Jobs for the boys!
The question of bringing in has-beens will no doubt be asked at the fans forum next week, i look forward to the bullshit reply.
Fuck the EFL
30 August 2017 at 1:19 pm #161623Along with Hunt these are just jobs for Cooks mates and drinking pals.Did you go last night? Did you see Hunt? In a low=level game in front of a small crowd, coming on as sub – surely no reason for him to bother trying.
But he did. He ran at them and created quite a few openings.30 August 2017 at 2:45 pm #161626Agree with you, he did work hard.

But I bet it won’t be you that asks the question.

Why not? You could say that about anyone, will you be at the fans forum and if so what question will you be asking?
Fuck the EFL
30 August 2017 at 5:55 pm #161631Good signing for me. Knows the gaffer and his style. Will be able to pass some good info onto the younger lads.
30 August 2017 at 11:23 pm #161632The signing doesn’t fill me with too much enthusiasm if I am honest, but every squad of players needs hardened professionals like Roberts, Hunt and Perkins. They will pass on their experience to the younger players and to keep the heads of up and coming stars like Powell, Morsy, Burn and Grigg out of the clouds.
The knowledge and experience they have of the game will hopefully rub off on all the other players and their advice could be invaluable in the retention of these players.31 August 2017 at 1:06 am #161633The signing doesn’t fill me with too much enthusiasm if I am honest, but every squad of players needs hardened professionals like Roberts, Hunt and Perkins. 31 August 2017 at 3:07 am #161644Come on its just Cook giving his drinking buddies a job for 12 months. They’re not actually going to be in the first team. They are lesser players than Craig Davies who we dumped last season.
31 August 2017 at 3:10 am #161645Its up to the manager and coaches to motivate the players not the managers bar pals.
