The league table doesn’t lie, they are far better than us and their squad is much better than ours.
To add to that they get gifted an off side goal and Alan Wiley is the worst big team biased ref in the world.
To see some of the scriking on hear you’d think we’d just played a pub team!
21 February 2010 at 11:28 pm #23506I know shocking.
If we had played the bottom club or a fourth division side you could understand it.21 February 2010 at 11:29 pm #23509Yer reet Ytm.
Thought we were in the game for 80 mins, and deserved a point at the least. Can’t knock any of the players performances; but we were weakened when Moreno went off and Sinclair came on.

Exactly LHL – as I said on one of my posts, first half, we didn’t look like scoring and neither did they. We are looking stronger at the back, just need to make something happen up front. McCarthy and Diame were running everywhere this afternoon….we just have silly spells where some of the team start day dreaming.
21 February 2010 at 11:37 pm #23514Diame was crap
Melchiott was crap21 February 2010 at 11:42 pm #23518I really can’t believe people are defending Martinez and the team. I wonder what it will take to convince them?
Mind you, if passing 6 or 7 square passes, before passing back and then hitting a long punt forward, either for Moreno to hoplessly chase, or a ball straight into touch, is considered “being in the game for 80 minutes”, then it is time that I packed in watching football. Because I must have had the wrong idea all these years……….
“Still in the game”? Ok, so how many shots did we have? How many times did we test Gomes, apart from that Rodallega shot he tipped over? Did I miss an abundence of testing crosses that Gomes was having to claw away? Actually, have we got anybody who CAN put a decent cross over?
And do you not think that it looked like Spurs were always strolling, and never left 3rd gear?
Honestly, I wouldn’t criticize us if it wasn’t deserved. But it’s god awful. And no use pretending otherwise. It’s been a long time since fans were leaving with 20 minutes left, but it happened today.
We’re a shambles, and even the more placid “sit on the fence” types have had enough. Like I’ve said elsewhere, I actually feel sorry for McCarthy and Moses. Two young lads, who are both better than this team, and would both be better off (for their careers) at a bigger club, being ‘eased’ into things, rather than shoved into a relegation battle.
Apart from that, ANY of them could leave and I wouldn’t be bothered.22 February 2010 at 12:08 am #23535Unlike some previous matches, there weren’t many complaints until we hit the 80 minute mark.
We didn’t play well, but could have got something out of the game.
22 February 2010 at 12:12 am #23538Possibly could have got something out of the game, but Spurs were the better side. That said, Wiley was an absolute joke, every 50-50 went their way. His “big club” bias was summed up perfectly in the space of 30 seconds when he had words with Huddlestone and then booked McCarthy for 2 similar offences….and managers ask for consistency, we cant even get it from refs within the same minute now!!
As for their first goal, it was only 2 yards offside, but can’t blame Wiley for that, down to the clueless idiot with the flag.
