It’s one of Wigan Athletic’s only traditional songs that is still sung at games.
I sung it on the terrace years ago, and me and Mrs Standish sung it to our unborn eldest son whilst in Mrs Standish’s tummy.
It only fades out after one verse because no f@cker sings these days.
Well it does my head in and before you mention the fact that I am relatively new to this lark our Jeff and his mates ( !982 ) hate it as well ! Loads of clubs use it and I just find it a bit happy close knit family-esque ! Move with the times I say and don’t dwell on the past. That is my philosophy on many subjects ! Germany got beat last night and within 20 mins I had calmed down and normal business was resumed !

Putting aside the drug taking hippy music you listen to.
It doesn’t have to be replaced with anything. Just drop the fcuker ! The illiterate ” We won it two times ” song is more of a signature tune if you ask me ! There needs to be some originality in my view and singing a song word for word is not original ! At least the other teams fans that use it change the words to personalise it to their respective clubs !
