I reckon that Raphael has it written in his loan contract that if he’s fit he plays so we are stuck with him for at least half a game until the end of the season.

Word has it….Betoni has refused to sign a new contract on advice from his agent maybe that’s why he’s being left out.

Two points dropped yesterday, far too cautious in the first half, we need to start with the strongest team available, start every game on the front foot.

The Luton game proves one thing, the players have been taking the piss for weeks in that time we have slipped into the relegation zone.

They should take the Lions share of the blame if we go down, the 45 minutes we played well last night means naff all if we fuck the next few games up, the players have a lot of making up to do to the supporters.

I just hope the new management team don’t raise their voices to the players or ask them to put more effort in, the prima donnas will be downing tools again and go in to a mega strop.

Depending on if he’ll join the circus AKA Wigan Athletic and the owner wants to show the fans he has ambition, Alan Sheehan ex Swansea would be my choice, experience only novices need not apply.

When we were in administration for the first time, Callum Lang was on loan at Motherwell. He was out of sight out of mind whilst the fire sale was taking place. I always believed it was a deliberate stroke of genius by someone within the club to keep him out the way Has someone done the same with our current youngsters to keep them away from Lowe and his arrogant attitude? Kai Payne excepted coz he’s in league 2, I’ve always thought our youngsters are playing way too low a level in getting their experience. Leo Graham is playing in the 8th tier!!!! Others such as Sze, Watson, Corran, Miller are only playing in the 6th and 7th tiers All these players should be National League or League 2 if they are to learn much about professional football. I hope it was a needs must policy to keep them out of the current environment and that they can now return and continue their development properly

If you believe that then who do you think orchestrated the plan to move them to “safe houses”?

Who’s idea was it to shift Langey to Scotland?

Just got back and Lowe needs to go. I won’t go into the finer details but 3-3 doesn’t paint over the sh*t show. If it wasn’t for Tickle making 4 tremendous saves we’d have lost that 7-3

On the flip side if Tickle hadn’t fucked up and our defence stopped pissing about we could have won that game.

Heard a whisper that Arsenal wanting to change Latics fans around £40 and Latics are arguing it out with them, saying that is too much A friend told me they charged Palace fans £25 in the Carabao Cup. That would be fair enough and I’d be happy enough with that.

Just heard the same on a group chat, the lad that posted it has a family member that works at the club, so could well be legit.

                      Hi Jason,

I like many others echo the sentiments of Horc so no need to repeat what he said.

My main gripe with your latest post is “much needed funds” asking fans to turn up early to spend their money, we have a billionaire owner and the manager is forced in to buying players on the cheap or dud loan signings.

If fans did succumb to your appeal and turn up early, spend more money etc where exactly would that extra money go or be spent on?  Would it be given to the manager towards transfer funds? This thread seems to be a Supporters Club promotion to me.

Not trying to be awkward or rude mate, just that questions need to be answered, since the takeover two and a half years ago the club has become a shambles, and by the way I am a member of Latics Speyk and post frequently, my views are slagged almost every other day but I keep going, get back on there Jason you are more than welcome.

Edit…Any updates on the Wall of Hope organised by a committee member of the SC?

Same sentiments as above, overpriced beer, food , long queues.

I’ve been saying for a while now that the club has gone downhill rapidly since this ownership came along, Danson saved us yes fair enough but that’s about it, no money spent on the stadium, piss poor communication and empty promises.

The hierarchy repeatedly say they are listening to the fans, I very much doubt it, in one ear and out the other, the club is in intensive care and that lot upstairs don’t seem to care, only us fans care.

Just a little more on the canal bridge fiasco, a guy that drinks in the Brickmakers has asked for Freedom of Information from Wigan Council, some good points raised that echo’s what I posted the other day.

I go across that bridge on matchdays, walks and bike rides that so called damage has been like that for months maybe over a year, the local authority haven’t picked up on this, so no regular inspections have taken place, that corrosion hasn’t happened overnight, my guess would be a member of the public has reported the state of the bridge.

Since the closure someone has been around the bridge taking photos and posting them on social media that is the only evidence we have up to now. I agree and reckon it’s all down to Policing costs and people are looking for excuses.

Important update on access to The Brick Community Stadium via Walmsley Bridge.

                                • Important Update | Walmsley Bridge Closure
                                • The closure affects Latics’ New Year’s Day home
                                • fixture against Barnsley FC
                                • The Walmsley Bridge closure will take place between 12pm and 6pm

Please be aware that Walmsley Bridge, which connects Springfield to the stadium across the Leeds-Liverpool Canal, will be closed for our New Year’s Day fixture against Barnsley FC 2026 between 12pm and 6pm.

This is an important interim and precautionary measure and is in the interests of public safety.

Stadium management and Wigan Council will be working together to find a long-term solution, but the closure will likely remain in place for a number of upcoming matches.

Wigan Athletic and The Brick Community Stadium fully appreciate that this will be an inconvenience to our supporters who use this route for their journey to and from the stadium on matchdays. It is important that supporters respect the closure, and we thank you for your patience, cooperation and understanding.

Please make alternative arrangements so you can get to the match in plenty of time.

Access to the stadium will be possible via Stadium Way and also from the Western routes around Robin Park and Loire Drive.
