The biggest concern with Gary Caldwell at Wigan Athletic isn’t simply the results, but the way the team is losing. Wigan look defensively fragile, vulnerable to pressure and often lack control when games turn against them. The 3-4-2-1 system hasn’t consistently provided enough defensive protection, while possession hasn’t always translated into genuine attacking threat. There is also a worrying tendency for Wigan to start slowly and concede early, leaving them chasing games. Against Stockport, conceding three goals inside the opening 21 minutes exposed just how vulnerable the side can be. Caldwell deserves credit for stabilising Wigan last season, and the 3-1win over MK Dons showed the squad is capable of producing good football, but the inconsistency is becoming difficult to ignore. The bigger question now is whether Caldwell has a clear tactical identity capable of taking Wigan forward, rather than simply reacting to problems as they appear.
Caldwell has got a lot to prove now. The question isn’t whether he can get a reaction from this Wigan side, but whether he can find the right formula and make the team consistently competitive. The performances have been too inconsistent, the defence too vulnerable and the attacking play too predictable at times. He has shown that he can get this team playing well, but after another heavy defeat, the pressure is building. Caldwell now needs to make the right changes, get the balance right and, most importantly, find a way to turn potential into results. Can he find the right formula? That could ultimately decide how his time at Wigan unfolds.
Got this from another source, nail on the head!

First of all let’s forget the Bolton fans I have no interest what that lot have to say, bunch of sad bastards!
I get were you’re coming from VAT but don’t you think the clubs hierarchy have brought this on themselves? Can we trust them?
Over the past 3 years we have had very little to no communication from the owner his son or any of the top brass apart from the odd statement from Sarah Guilfoyle even then we were spun yarns and lies aka bullshit, the fans aren’t has thick and gullible as the hierarchy think they are (some are) we have heard empty promises, such as Championship football even the Prem, it went public that the Tickle money would be reinvested to strengthen the squad only for them to back track on that promise.
I saw the short clip you refer to with the new fella, I just shook my head and deleted it, the guy is just a Danson puppet only last week he went public to say he “believes we are going in the right direction and intend to build on that” I bet he felt a right tit after the 4-0 tonking on Saturday, would you call losing 4 out 5 games and bottom of League 1 “going in the right direction”?
What is Dansons motive with wanting to hold on to the stadium, no one in their right mind would but this club in it’s present state especially with no stadium, we have no appeal left it’s all been stripped away, how much longer are we going to bang on about “how Danson saved us?” Yes he did but at present it feels like the admin days all over again.
The fans have had enough we need truthful answers and clarity to what the future holds for Wigan Athletic.

I get the word stability that keeps being bandied about however what i dont get is the words For sale which puts a completely different slant on proceedings. The word unstable springs to mind, no build for the future in the playing squad other than a make do and mend policy and i am sorry to say this i can only see Non League Football on the horizon. That was on the cards in 1994-1995 before DW came in on his white charger and took the club into an upward direction almost overnight. Rest assured its league 2 and non league football after that , make no bones about it ! Grim times ahead indeed, no more words to be said.
Agree with all of that Vince, if we aren’t sold by Christmas we are fucked! I HOPE THE PENDING PROTESTS HIT THE OWNERS HARD! these fuckers have had it easy for far too long, there’s only so much piss you can take, lets do this this.
Fuck the EFL
Christ…….different take on photo shoot……around Scholes precinct!!!
If we sign a centre forward he’ll be visiting the hot spots of Platt Bridge and Bickershaw for his photo shoot.
Someone is taking the right Royal piss here, who the fuck thought this up taking pics of players in druggie den Scholes?
Harry’s bar on stand by for any late signings!
Fuck the EFL
Whitworth in at long last, now go get us a centre forward that can actually bulge the onion bag!
A huge 8 hours ahead for Wigan Athletic.
Fuck the EFL
And to rub salt into the wound, our excellent Head Coach comes up with……”But it’s something we knew might happen” The club is a fuckin’ laughing stock but not funny.

Frank, I hope you are coming back to vital after your enforced sabbatical.
I’ll be back mate, maybe just play guess the gate and put the odd post on, too many snowflakes on Vital lately very good at dishing it out and when I say it how it is they get upset and hit the report button.
Whoever the culprit(s) is/are they’ll be tossing themselves off at me being banned, I read your post on vital, thanks for the support pal, speak again soon.
Fuck the EFL
Frank Bullitt 7995 full name as on Vital please pal, cheers.

My fear is I reckon we’ll see Maloneyball again before long, constant tinkering, players playing out of position (square pegs round holes) ultra defensive Maloney style with nothing up top, lots of passing around at the back, 25 passes just to make the half way line.
We won’t concede many but we won’t score that many either, the club have taken enough from player sales and put not one bit of quality back into the squad, we have less than a week to add some quality or we will be rooted to the bottom of this league.
You can understand the fans frustration, at any other club there would be protests all over the shop, not at Wigan we just sit back, take it then let rip at the players, it’s the hierarchy at the club doing the damage!
Fuck the EFL
Still not arrived. Rang again, assured me they’ve all gone out. The digital ones apparently rolled out this week…….don’t hold you breath!!. Was told to go down and they’ll reprint new cards which will make the original ones void if they ever arrive. Sums up the whole Wigan Athletic fiasco. Bought them in May now 5 days before season neither got the 2 cards or my grandaughers digital one……Shit show yet again. This CEO needs to sorts us out ASAP as we are a laughing stock.
I hope you don’t have to pay again for another card, wasn’t it an extra tenner if you required a season card?
