There’s no doubt Maloney knows a decent player when he sees one the problem is the style of play he introduced, slow boring and ultra negative making these decent players look shit!
I sound like a stuck record I know, but build a squad play to it’s strengths and you’ll be fine, Maloney is trying to put square pegs in round holes.
Fuck the EFL

In a nutshell VAT build a squad sensibly that can challenge for top six then run the club sustainably.
That little bit of investment will definitely make the difference.
Edit….The only sticking point is the manager, will he play to the new squads strengths or will he force that tippy tappy shite on to them? If he does then back to square one.

Off topic, but it proper boils my piss when the dickheads in ES2 sing ‘Do the Shaun Maloney’ do they understand what football is about and how shit we are or are they just out for a piss up with their mates? 🤬
Ironically , in his first season back at Latics Jewell could only finish 10th in Division One. Dave Whelan decided to keep faith in his young Manager as he slowly re built the squad. He reaped the rewards the following season as Latics stormed the League with 100 points. Admittedly he was backed by Whelans millions but you have to give Managers time to build their squad. Let’s see how Maloney does next season .
Paul Jewell’s reign; without a doubt.
I came away from games feeling exhausted, as if I’d actually played in the game itself.
No other Wigan Manager compares.
Now, my mates have to wake me up and say “come on Paps, it’s time to go home”, so the current band of happy clappers have never seen the real Latics.
Funny enough I had the same conversation with a contractor at work the other day about how we play now compared to when Jewell was at the helm.
I am no happy clapper but I am also not a doom and gloom merchant like a lot of people on this site seem to be finding fault with everything single thing the club and Maloney do. I am a supporter of Wigan Athletic and want the club to do well.At this moment in time I have seen nothing to suggest Maloney or Danson will not succeed .That may well change next season ,who knows . I for one am more than happy with what we have achieved this season, the target was always to avoid relegation , mission accomplished. Roll on next season !
Who actually said the target was to avoid relegation?
