Just wondering because there’s loads of tickets being touted on various websites for our end. I thought you had to go to a certain number of games per season to get tickets?

How many of our fans will be in our end? I’m bringing a mate to the game, but only on the condition that he is an honorary Tic for the day![/quote
I reckon it will be 50/50

There’s no way we’d normally sell out 1,400 tickets just like that. Definitely something fishy about it.

Come on Martin its not hard to work out
Are you going down limper ? Think i asked you yesterday but the day became a blurrrr

I know people in the lower tier and im upper tier, therefore we cant have sent either of those back.

Thy only had upper tier tickets left on saturday.
Yeh my mate who bought lower tier tickets got them over a week ago. He’s definitely down there, we must have sent half or so of the lower tier back perhaps.
Should be interesting then bound to be full of chelsea

Went down at lunchtime. They said they’d sold the lot and not sent any back but for some reason I didn’t believe them. Bit gutted.

I heard a lad had been down 10 times to get 4 tickets at a time for his stag do and they gladly gave him the tickets.
Got mine saturday and they questioned my attendance record and said i hadnt bought enough home match tickets to apply for chelsea tickets . When i asked them to check my away attendance this season they had to see whoever was in charge if i was allowed any even tho i.ve only missed 3 away games . Thankfully they saw sense . Glad i went now was only going to go today

Very doubtfull pal, yes we’ve beat them once already this season but maybe a draw would be more possible

Should be a good day outexcept for the £48/£45 ticket price and the £3.60 a pint near ground.Hope we beat them but if not and they win the league i’ll still be smiling as i’ve a few bob coming to me if they do

Just looking at the NPL final tables during the mid seventies suggests we dipped the couple of seasons before election to the league and finished second the year we got elected.

Other names that evoke great memories:

South Liverpool
Goole Town
Buxton

Big games were always against the likes of Stafford Rangers, Boston United, Altrincham and Scarborough.

One of the reasons I’m trying to get info is to nail my first game. I thought it was Autumn 1971 against Runcorn, a 3-1 win, but it must have been Autumn 1970 as I went to Maine Road in 1971. I’ll find it sooner or later.

Get in touch with Geoff Rourke if u know him . he told me the date score and scorer for my 1st game against Witton albion back in 1972 within 2 days of me asking him.He is super stats in my eyes.

Great Harwood !!!!! theres a name from our past when you look at us now its impossible to imagine we ever played the likes. How about some more we have done battle with?

Netherfield
Kendal
South Shields
Mossley
Gainsborough Trinity
Rossendale

And of course Skem Utd

are netherfield and kendal the same club now ?
think my dad flew to south shields one year lol. My favourite memories were lancaster away leatherhead away in trophy n the usual grudge match with stafford rangers which always drew a big crowd.

Great days great memories

Anyone know of any sites, beyond Wikipedia, with any stats, results, info, archive stuff for the NPL, circa 1970 – 1978?

Strange u should of just asked that . Dont know of any sites for u but just been delivering in Great Harwood so went to look at their old ground why i was there as it was my 1st ever away match back in 1972.Its derelict now which is such a shame cos it brought back fond memories of when i was a kid n just started watching latics.Got talking to an old fella who was walking past n he asked me did we win 4-3 which was true .Innit mad how both clubs fortunes have changed over the years
