There are two ways of looking at this one – firstly the club should be applauded for trying to fill the ground for the last 3 games. On the other hand, as someone who unfailingly pays out up front for a season ticket, bringing a mate for a few quid does not really have any benefit to me. Mates/acquaintances/people I don’t really like – not Latics fans as they’d be going anyway – often ask when the next offer is on and can they go. That doesn’t exactly reward my loyalty.

How about offering the opportunity to buy next years season ticket now at a 10% discount or something like that? It seems to work ok for other clubs.

i agree it doesnt exactly repay season ticket holders who go alone but for those of us who dont go every game at home it will save them / me a fortune and b4 the attacks come in i go nearly every game home and away and have done 4 yrs and it sort of pays me back the £40 ive spent to go to fulham on good friday . Even tho we are still going down 4 the day

I thought exactly the same but didnt want to come under fire for being negative ! How exactly does the loyal season ticket holder actually personally benefit ??
In fairness, apart from that Westwood fella, the Pompey fans seem a decent lot. That said, there’s a lot of rubbish talked about their fans, yes the ones that go give them superb support, but their gates are incredibly poor for a club thats in a 2 club county with no Premier League club for at least 50 miles. I’m sure that they hardly filled FP even after they won the cup, yet with their catchment area, they should have been locking thousands out every week.

nowt wrong with that westwood fella pal. Sorry
Why the love for Portsmouth and Westwood bungy ?
no love for pompey or westwood but why slag off someone when you probably dont know him ?

They might be a top 4 side in the Championship and their new stadium could be to share St.Mary’s.
mmmm take it you dont like them then ?

less than 10,000 there for their game with Fulham tonight.

The people of Turin dont deserve a football team ;)

glad they won 3-1 tho .Heard if fulham get thru then our match at fulham maybe postponed and with already having train tickets sorted would be a bit of a bummer

Only one thing that can be said abou that was, what an amazing day. Latics and Brentford fans just had a ball and that was about the start of a rise that saw us almost promoted three times before the dark days set in. Then Dave Whelan and like a Phoenix we rose and shoke the football world by the heels.

what a weekend that was . We went down on last train friday nite and never stopped drinking for 3 days , I turned out with just under £400 and went in the army on the monday with £8 left and an extra stone round my waste lol. Didnt take um long to burn that off me !
