A tenner says I’m right though.
Seriously, don’t flatter yourself you daft old twat. You’re rarely right about anything, what makes you think you’d be right about that? For the record, you’d have just lost a tenner of your winter fuel allowance had you placed that bet.
Now and again, you and that other old buffoon come up in conversation, along the lines of “why the hell do you even bother wasting time with those morons?” They have a point, to be fair
So you do talk about us – I rest my case m’lud.
Hey! never mind you boring old, fat get. Christmas is coming and you may just get that brand new crayon set you pine for.
I am amazed at the hypocrisy. Whelan is being defended on here for making stupid, ill conceived, insulting and dated comments when trying to make light of the pretty untasteful texts Mackay sent yet, when it’s thrown back at them in a very tongue-in-cheek way those same people scream, out of order.
Yes Sammy, I was one of those standing up for Mr Whelan for his unfortunate mutterings which have been seen by most of the country as the utterings of an oldman who should have known better but were never meant to insult nor be offensive.
However, if you think that the headline in that blog was meant as ‘tongue-in-cheek’ then you have clearly missed the tasteless intent meant by his words. There was never any need to fan the flames of what was already a well trodden and discussed episode.
I, am not the hypocrite here, nor am I the ‘hey look at me’ type (as displayed by that beurk and wannabe writer, but I do know what I’m talking about and don’t curry favour by changing what I say to please an audience.

PS: never seen you in there but I wager we of the same age (or thereabouts)
Poor old duffer’s getting confused now Sammy, you’re not having the credit for the Darby and Joan Club line. Perhaps Care Home would have been more apt for our confused, old member. He does seem awfully confused.
The gift that just keeps giving.
I never said nor sttibuted that line to Sammy – tis you who said it for all to see. I was right about the ‘hey look at me’, ‘it were me that wrote that funny’, ‘please like me’ condition that you so surely suffer from.
Oh dear! Now please stop, it is very cold out there, and I can no longer laugh with cracked lips.
Right, so they specifically mentioned every team in that draw who has had past success in the competition did they? No, they didn’t. So why would Wigan deserve a specific mention?
I am not picking holes, it’s called debating on a forum. Don’t get upset if I don’t agree with you and please don’t do what you normally do which is just bang on and on with the same argument that has already been proved to be wrong. If you can contradict the statement in bold above, I might, just might carry on this particular debate with you. But I probably won’t.
As for my popularity, how many more times do I have to ask why anyone thinks that I give even the remotest flyer if anonymous “people” on this forum like me or not?
Don’t be such a mard arse to nit pick by asking did they mention every team – you know that was not what was intimated in my response nor that of grumpy – if you call that ‘debating on a forum’ then you have very poor skills indeed. So there is no need to employ your (for want of a better word) debating skills to make yet more excuses and hope that you have not embarrassed yourself yet again.
As for proving me wrong – you are clearly delusional as tis you who goes around in those circles until everyone is bored to the back teeth with your usual bickering, repetition and ‘I’m right’ clap trap. And you do court popularity on here, it is clear to see – I bet it’s the fore of all your conversations with the people who drink in your company in the pub.
Well, I hope for your sake that you didn’t put too much money on that. You seriously think we would spend valuable socialising and drinking time discussing the likes of you? And you call me delusional!!
Christ, being castigated by the most sanctimonious poster on this forum.
Sanctimonious? You need to have a long look in the mirror mate with some of the crap that you’ve dealt on this subject.
Blasphemy works well for you it seems.
Not particularly since I’m certainly no God-botherer.

Each to their own then.

Have suggested to the Club that they take a look at that website
As you appear to have taken a lead on this can you ask if they will be requesting that the PCC (Press Complaints Commission) or IPSO (Independent Press Standards Organisation), as is the new organisation, will be approached and any finding printed on the official website?
I’d be absolutely embarrassed if the club did anything but ignore it completely. Can’t believe anybody is giving it a moment’s thought. Get over yourselves. The Bolton lad will be made up that you’re even talking about it
Yes. That much that he has changed the format of the headline and taken away the offensive accusations for he knows that his stupid and crass actions could have closed down the blog that he writes for. If Cockney Latic had written anything as abusive do you think others would have rolled over and said – “oh look at them and their jolly japes, what a blast?” No they would have complained in the hope that the site was castigated.
And you Sammy, I’m not surprised you applauded Griff’s holier than thou approach the pair of you were jousting on your bloody high horses long enough.
Just remember, because it does not affect or insult you does not mean that it does not others. Your high and mighty attitude to everything you write is actually very pungent and onerous.
Precisely. And our current accuser was one of those who was particularly quick to defend Whelan’s words and tell every one else to get off the PC bandwagon, if I recall correctly. Different now the shoe’s on the other foot. But I was waiting for someone else to point that out.
Crikey, no wonder you are such a failed writer when you cannot even grasp the concept of context. I think a revision course on basic creative writing technique is in order for you pal.

Right I have, quite rightly, contradicted that statement written in bold above but please keep any further musings to yourself. People on here are really tired of your excuses.

We`ve a few games before that enough to turn it around, I liked when the draw was made their was no reference to us being last seasons semifinalist or 2013 winners just Scum v Wigan Athletic a lancashire derby .
Out of 32 games, with 8 non-league clubs in the draw, why would they pick out one between two shite championship teams.
Chip. Shoulder. On.
Because they made a real song and dance, with Bruce invited into the audience, about Hull’s precious history making debut in the final last year – which they lost. They also went on to mention a few previous successes of some of the lower teams.
Arse, talking, your, out you’re, again
Yes, Hull did get to the final (not semi-final, which we lost) last year. And the draw was made in Hull. And they drew one of the best teams in the land. In a repeat of last year’s final (not two years ago). All seems perfectly reasonable to me that they would talk to Steve Bruce and, I guess, anyone with a half an ounce of common sense would agree.
So, at the risk of making yourself look even more stupid, give me one good reason why they would even mention Wigan above any of the other 62 teams in the draw? Or don’t, because I’m not that interested.
No – I can’t hold a candle to you. However, the clue is in the thread title and the name of the programme hosted on the BBC.
Let me see – oh yes. FA CUP Draw. Not too difficult for the hard of understanding to fathom out. There were plenty of other references throughout the programme of the lower teams as well – I mentioned that in my previous reply too but your short term memory is obviously starting to fail you (a man of your age I suppose).
Look, just stop picking holes in others input to the board and your popularity may (just may) pick itself up from where it presently is.
Oh! That about Hull is no reason not to mention our past successes in the competition – anyone with half an ounce of common sense would agree.

Someone needs to grab a quick ‘print screen’ and paste it onto a word document as I am sure it will disappear fairly sharpish.
Just in case there were to be a follow up of course.
Edit: Lostock, did you pick this up because it was on the Newsnow page, therefore, for all to see? Shocking.
Sorry Malc but I see it different. When Cowie came on yesterday the whole pace of our game picked up. We started to make significant inroads down the right and it was down to Cowie. Even my mate said we looked a different team when Cowie came on and he is the biggest pessimist ever.If Maloney is not fit then he shouldn’t be on the field. Last week at Sheff Weds Malky praised him for offering to sit on the bench despite being ill, that would have been bad management if he had allowed him to do that.
Body language says it all really, if Gomez had put his head down like Maloney did yesterday he would have been slated.
I agree that the subs were a bit strange yesterday with us having no centre forward on the field at one point, whilst being 1-0 down with 15 mins to go. :woohoo:
Sentiments have to go out the window I’m afraid, we only want players on the field who are fully fit and giving 110%, Don Cowie IMHO fits that bill.
You have a point there JR. If Malloney had even the slightest hint of the illness that had kept him out of the squad last week then he should not have even made the bench – this would have allowed for a different and additional substitution in the second half and may have had a different impact on how the second half went. I do feel that when you have a player on the pitch who is not firing on all cylinders the others tend to shy away from giving him the ball for fear of it going tits up; it would effectively be like playing with 10 men.
However, I go back to what I said in an earlier post – the look, stature and poise of the players yesterday spoke volumes for me. They see the dwindling crowds, they read the papers, they see a manager under pressure and they are reacting accordingly. I believe the players are part of the problem and are in dire need of a ‘pep’ talk from someone to remind them who exactly is paying their wages.
