Alright all,
I’m a red. I registered just to make a couple of points.
Firstly, don’t judge all the fans by the smattering of knobheads that shout the loudest on the internet. Especially not over at sites like Liverpool-Kop. It’s a crap, biased, unfriendly ‘community’ full of twonks.
Secondly, I don’t think Martinez is up for the Liverpool job. Not because he isn’t a decent manager, mind. I don’t think he’s a mature enough manager to handle the pressure that goes with that particular position.
After the issues that nearly saw the club enter administration a year and a bit ago the fans are anxious. The previous board have proved they’re a bunch of halfwits and the current one, well, there isn’t a current one.
There’s no structure or confidence at the club and, now that Kenny’s been sacked, the fans will have whoever gets the seat under a microscope from the get-go, as will the arseholes of the press.
If Martinez came to Liverpool now it would destroy his career while it’s in its infancy. He’s already a sound manager but he’ll be a great one someday. The job isn’t just managing and motivating players at LFC, it’s politics, PR and working under intense scrutiny both from the owners (who want top 4 at all costs) and the press, who are a shower of cunts.
Most decent, match going reds that I know think a lot of Martinez, especially after he spoke out in favour of Benitez over that Sir Baconface bollocks, but they want someone with a bit more experience.
FWIW I’ve not heard a single one of me mates slate him.
Cyas.
The voice of reason. Well put mate.
I was interviewed by 5 Live last Thursday just after Dave Whelan had gone public with the approach and one thing I said was to ask how long would Liverpool give Roberto to get it right and pointed out that Wigan had given him three years to date.
The response I got from the BBC guy was about three months.
Whoever takes the job will be up against it from the outset and although plenty of managers will say that they would relish the challenge but to be honest I reckon most would be kidding themselves.
Bring back Rafa I say.
Pretty clever really goodpost
Appears that they have opened up the bottom of ES2 where the 12BET ad netting goes.
Very tenuous but me likey goodpost
An awful lot will depend on tomorrow afternoon games between QPR and Stoke plus Bolton and West Brom.
To be honest I think Blackburn have gone irrespective of how they do against us and they know it.
With any luck both QPR and Bolton will both lose tomorrow meaning that, barring a disaster of Devon Lock proportions, we will be safe.
179.
At this rate they may get to the point where they consider opening ES1 for sale (428 seats in there).
We had never had a single point against Man U.
We had never got anything at Arsenal (we actually lost the Carling Cup semi-final).
We had never won at Anfield.
Times change and hopefully that will continue on Monday.
KTF and believe.
I posted a fairly long report on that match last night, WTF happened to it ???? What a waste of fuckin time !! It was full of positives as well !! Apart from Ben Watson !!Is the above what you were looking for?
Apparently he is the first palyer to ever come off the bench to score a penalty with his first kick.
He also bags the fastest goal scored by a substitute.John Aldridge replaced Peter Beardsley to come on and score a penalty in the 9-0 thrashing of Crystal Palace in September 1989.
He was signing for Real Sociedad the very next day so Dalglish brought him on to take the penalty for sentimental sake.
Not sure if that’s the only other one.
Sorry Jay.
6 and a quarter for meAre you waiting for someone to bite?
