£150 isnt much to say “I was there the day Wigan won the cup”.

It is on top of £100 from the semi final.
So are you going to sit at home and watch it on TV then Egg? Imagine how sick you or anyone else would feel if Wigan won it and you weren’t there.

As you no doubt noticed, the names of the FA Cup winners are round the stadium, and there are not that many.

Yes we laugh at ourselves over empty seats and all that, but not to sell out for the cup final would be humiliating; we would never live that down :woohoo:

No, you wouldnt, and even I dont wish it comes to you returning tickets.

But I dont think it would come to that. Any true Wigan fan would walk over hot coals to be there on the day – its the culmination of the clubs’ rise from nothing to being in the final of the oldest sporting spectacle in the world, watched by billions, and one which you may never see Wigan in the rest of your lifetime.

But to go to the lengths of actually accepting tickets to watch a football club you dislike

When did I say I dislike Wigan Athletic? I dislike the obsession that some on here have with Wigan Warriors, thats all.

Just because I dont avidly follow them, doesnt make me a disliker. I’m the same as those 6,000 extra “followers” who went down to wembley on Sat who are rarely, if ever, seen at the DW for a league game. I never said that I had received freebies from WAFC – that was just your interpretation.

On my invitation for up to 4 free tickets, I was asked whether I wanted tickets in the Millwall or Wigan end.

The only way to get ‘complimentary’ tickets for that Semi Final:

    1) Each Club received 50 for players family/friends
    2) A competition win/gift from the sponsors/FA
    3) Directors of each Club and some staff
    4) Tickets given for the Armed Forces

One place you could not get complimentary tickets, was from Wigan Athletic Football Club as a handout – they didn’t exist.

I would also like to add that Latics didn’t sell any ticket for block 122, they were in the FA Control and so I would say you came under point 2 or at a push 4.

Either way I hope you enjoyed the game as I think our town’s professional football team did us proud on Saturday.

Lets hope you are there to maybe see us lift the trophy!!!!

You are correct Mr Taylor – I do come under one of those categories, and I sincerely hope you win the trophy, although I doubt I will be there, as the number of freebies will be drastically reduced and I wouldnt wish to deny a true supporter the chance to see their team at Wembley. I dare say that some of those “die-hards” who couldnt make a 5.15 kick-off on a Saturday will suddenly find the ability (and the money) to make one next month at double the price!

That block did have many Wigan fans in it although its possible that they moved seats once in the stadium. I was sat next to a Chinese student who asked me which teams were in which colours – he bought his complimentary ticket for £20.

And to SW, the Otter and the others who called “Bullshitter”, I await your apology, although I wont hold my breath, as admitting you were wrong seems to be an alien concept, and I’ve better things to do than die of respiratory problems.

And to the others that doubt me, photos of the FREE tickets will be uploaded on Monday. Its a bit hard to post photos when I only pick them up from the West Stand tomorrow!

Firstly, and most importantly, many many congratulations to the true supporters – a well deserved victory against a side who huffed and puffed, but never really looked like getting a win.

Now, for those doubters, here’s my FREE ticket:

How as a topic from 1 year 5 month ago that was started by myse……….er ……..someone!!!! winged it’s way back to the top???

I’m guessing that its because you mocked the RFL for not being able to fill wembley.

Strange that SDW doesnt feel the need to comment on this thread….

And what a coincidence that the only person I know of that has been offered freebies happens to a sad, obsessed rugby mon. Or are you making things up as per usual?

I’ll upload a photo of them next week – then await your apology.
You’re getting free tickets from someone who has paid for those tickets.

    That’s completely different.

    But nevertheless, well done you.
Nobody has paid for these tickets.

I’ve been given a couple of freebies for this game to help swell the crowd. I’ve even requested 6 seats so that my chubby arse will fit.

Why not do something more worthwhile like getting your arse down to Loftus Rd to cheer on your beloved ‘tics?

in reply to: The Pitch Today #106783

I agree with you – the pitch will stand up to two clubs playing different sports, but 3 games in a week will never help.

Both clubs need to put out blackout dates, where they do not play at home under any circumstances. Warriors will be away next Good Friday, and at home on Easter Monday – Latics should be at home on Saturday next season, and then the following year, ensure they are away on Easter Sat. Similarly, come Nov time when the SL fixtures are announced, Warriors should be telling the RFL of dates that they are not to be at home.

Fixture planning isnt that difficult – it just needs to take dual-purpose grounds into consideration. After all, both sports want their product to be as good as possible, and having 2 games in 24 hours is never going to help.

4,500 of your fans seem to have gone missing since the last game.

in reply to: Rugby town? #106743
    Ah. A trick question lol

Not at all – the way some pr!cks go on here, its like the DW sells out every week! You have told me how long it has been since the “sold out” signs went up at the DW for a soccerball game – and that was only because 10,000 Man Utd fans showed up to see them lift the trophy.

in reply to: Rugby town? #106716

Now, back to my question – When was the last time yesterdays attendance was surpassed? For a bonus point, who were the opponents?

The day Man Utd won the league?
That was the day the stadium record was achieved. Yesterdays attendance has been bettered more than once since then.

For the benefit of you and that t!t 35 whatever, who doesnt like answering questions that dont suit his personal agenda, the answer is 2011, when it was bettered twice.

The opponents in question were St Helens and St George Illawarra.
