i have us with 9 points from the remaining games.
dont think qpr will get that, so i have us above them, but i havent seen bolton or blackburn’s run in….i think its gonna go to the last game though
he wont be a huge loss mr brownbill, he’s not as good as what thinks he his.
wish i had a quid for everytime i shouted “PASS THE FUGGIN THING”
i liked us under steve bruce.
the problem was, bruce wanted to kick on and push for europe, he wanted money to go out and buy players, better players than what we had. he wanted to us to spend bigger and attract better players.
the reason i believe he left, is that dave whelan didnt share his ambition and was afraid to spend what bruce wanted to spend, in hindsight due to what has happened to some clubs since, you could argue that whelan was correct not to back bruce?…hence the reason bruce joined sunderland and why wouldnt he?..bigger club, bigger fan base, more money.
anyways, like i said, i liked us under bruce, i always came away from the game thinking we gave our all out on the pitch and tho the football was abit more direct, it wasnt long ball and we had some skilful players i.e palacios, valencia.
i’d rather have that team and that manager, than the current one.
yep..agree,
number 7 for me.
you cant polish a turd.
our players are not good enough to do what he (martinez) wants them to do.
they are not comfortable on the ball, we have defenders who are not very good at defending, and strikers who cant hit the target. myself and everyone else can see what he wants them to do, but they are not good enough to do it..and if we do manage to groom a couple of players to be any good, they will get taken by bigger clubs.
thats why we were more succesful under jewell and bruce..they bought players to do a job, and they did it.
if we want to be like bilbao, us as fans are gonna have to be VERY VERY patient..stick with martinez and let him have 7-8 years of learning the whole club how to play this way, from the kids to the first team, and be prepared for a few ups and downs, and let him get on with it, without pressure.
it wont happen though, its not the english way, he will be forced out by the fans, or he will walk.
thing is, which way do we want it?
are we prepared to wait, and let him doin his job and support him unconditionally?
or do we want a change, try to stay in the premier league?
he could give his right one to di santo if he’s not using it?
saying that i dont think he’d score wi 3 legs and two heads!
naaah
he’s no right foot :silly:
if we stay up on the last day of the season with a last minute winner against wolves in a thrilling 4-3 win i’ll be extatic.
but….within half n hour of the final whistle when the euphoria has died down, i will still realise that the team is rubbish, the manager is incompetant and the chairman’s loyalty to him will bury us eventually.
cant find any positives at the minute..sorry
i didnt think this winless streak at home could go on longer than 6 months but it has.
i didnt think we could get much worse but we did.
and i didnt think our 3 most attack minded players would be left on the bench for a must-win home game against a mid table team with a shocking away record….but they did.
so now my final prediction is that we will will get relegated with a wimper, and this manager will probably get a new contract at the end of the season to play his ‘beautiful’ football in the championship where he belongs.
i predict that this prediction is quite predictable.
definately reacted to one result.
whats the logic in sackin mccarthy AFTER the transfer window?..a new manager will have to work with what he left, and that is probably a relegation side.
what decent manager wants a relegation on his c.v?…morgan reacted to a 5-1 home defeat to their biggest rivals, not to the bigger picture.
i think he sealed their fate.
MUST WIN…we aint gonna stop up without winning another 3 or 4 home games, and villa are there to be beat, need to start quickly and go at em from the first whistle.
on a negative, robbie keane’s last game for them and that will probably mean a goal for him.
2-1 (keane 93 min consolation)
are the shorts red aswell george, or still navy?
must admit i like white with red trim, dont think navy shorts would suit though.
men of a certain age should incur a fine for wearing a replica shirt.
Apparantly they had an argument in the pressbox at everton on saturday and its summat to do with what went on in south africa during the world cup, when they were both workin for talksport..parry calling collymore a dogger a wifebeater and a bully, and collpymore threatenin to sue!……paps ur right, I should get out more, but there are only 7 days in a week sir.
