He is apparently a cousin of the former racing driver, Maynor Piquet
Should we go down, i hope Whelan has the decency to publically sack Martinez and bring in a new Manager for the Championship.
………even more pathetic attempts at holding down a Premier League Managers Job.
Make your mind up. If he isn’t a Premier League Manager, then surely he is exactly who we would want if we end up in the Championship.
…
Bank on our relegation rivals rivals getting 8-12 points, then consider if we are still safe.In how many games?
How many points have they got all season so far?
They’re all going to get 8-12 points????
:? :? :?
It has to be said, we are now red hot favourites to go down.I expected something against Bolton, Villa and Fulham, we have nothing.
What? If you expected something against Villa or Fulham then you are living in a dream world.
We still have Portsmouth, Hull and West Ham to play.
Today we were away to a team who are still in the Europa League. :(
I have a friend who is a referee that many on here will know.
His view was always “call me incompetent, and I’ll (grudgingly) accept it – call me a cheat and you’re off”.
With professional footballers being paid thousands a week, there is a culture of cheating, whinging etc going on.
Referees (and I will shout abuse as soon as the next man – and to be honest if you’re in E7 you will know the “next man”) are only human. Thay make decisions on the spare of the moment, under TV scrutiny, with mega-stars screaming and yelling at them.
Paying them more isn’t going to help them make decisions. But the FA supporting any abuse of referees may help. I hate to mention other sports, particularly THAT one, but you know what I mean. Even in RU the players often call the referee “Sir”.
Don’t blame the referees. Blame the culture we have created.
And just look at what it was like:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uX6aKRt4V3YDidn’t Ozzie transform into Dave from Skem / Vat69?What about mitty and Dylan?
Easy to see who are the old posters and who doesn’t know who’s who ;)
I fell for this early one at http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=660978&cc=5739
Sixth paragraph still makes me blush when I realise how gullible I was
Better than the whole of Scotland probably ;)
Lots of clubs are in a similar financial position, the difference is some are taking steps to address this, even if it does take a few years. And we’re not?
We presumably are rushing headlong inot paying over the odds for players, paying exorbitant wages, holding on to players when good bids come for them.
Oh, and actually we are in debt mainly to our Chairman who is based in this country, locally in fact, and who understands the game.
The credit rating is purely based on paper considerations, and not on underlying conditions. Look at it this way. I have no real debts besides a mortgage. Comfortable but surviving. Someone like Sarah Ferguson perhaps is millions in debt. On paper I am HUGELY richer than she is. But is that the reality of life and lifestyles? Paper calculations mean nothing.
We are a well-run club with a tight-fisted Chairman. I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’m not going to lose sleep over this article.
Nothing to do with me but at http://www.juniorstripes.com/news/?id=44 dated 17 March it says “STRIPEY’S EASTER FUN – OFF
‘Due to school holiday schedule the advertised Easter Party can no longer take place’I am quite happy to be put in the same credit rating as Man City, Chelsea, Liverpool and Everton.
I don’t really think it’s going to make much difference.
One thing you do notice is that our squad never
I noticed that too :D
Is it any worse than a few years ago our fans at Stoke singing “You’re just a small town in Port Vale”?
