Apparently not.
You didn’t even score a goal in consecutive games.
In fact, you came closer to getting ten yellow cards.
Now jog on back to Lidl, I mean Harrods.
How many yellow cards can a team get for arguing when they’ve won free-kicks, I wonder?
30 pieces of silver just can’t buy what it did before the credit crunch :(
what was wrong with him at the end, sat on pitch on his own didnt look happyThought he looked emotionally drained myself.
The win meant a lot to us (a loss would have had the doom-mongers out), and he played a huge part in it. Don’t think he was unhappy – just shattered!!
“Figgy”? “Charlie”? “Rodders”??
Good Lord, preserve us!
From BBC site:
Head-to-head
• Wigan have lost only one of their last seven against Sunderland in league and cup.
• Sunderland have only won once away to Wigan, a 1-0 victory in the Championship in 2005 when Marcus Stewart got the only goal.
Wigan
• The Latics have not kept a clean sheet in their last eight league games and have conceded 14 goals in their last three matches.
• Wigan have scored three goals from set-pieces this season, fewer than any other side in the top flight.
• Wigan lost their opening two home league games this season (to Wolves and Manchester United) but are unbeaten in their last four at the DW Stadium.
Sunderland
• The Black Cats have won just one of their last 16 away league games, a 1-0 victory at Bolton on the opening day of the season.
• Darren Bent has scored nine of Sunderland’s 21 league goals this season.
• Without Bent’s goals, the Black Cats would have taken seven fewer points and would sit two points above the relegation zone.
Oh, and referee is Martin Atkinson
please explain the positives to me after a 9-1 defeat
1. It can’t get any worse
2. Tomorrow is another day
3. We are in the Premier League
4. I’ve finished work for the weekKenny Swain epitomizes the saying…..`Pinchin a Livin`and has done for nigh on 20 years!Not true. A very good coach, and should have been used as such, as England Youth team have found.
Being a manager is something different and not his forte at all. Same situation really as Chris Hutchings.
do we have anyone to replace Edman
I’m available
Easy and painless thing for them to do, but a decent gesture all the same.I (im)patiently await a plethora of tight-wad Wiganers demanding their money back from the Wolves game at home now
I went to Portsmouth and that was cr*p too – where do I queue?? ;)
Not looking forward to work on Tuesday
I’ll bet you’re looking forward to it more than the players when Whelan turns up tomorrow.
IF you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies,
Or being hated, don’t give way to hating,
And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise:
If you can dream – and not make dreams your master;
If you can think – and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build ’em up with worn-out tools:If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: ‘Hold on!’If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
‘ Or walk with Kings – nor lose the common touch,
if neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And – which is more – you’ll be a LaticsMon, my son!Fook me, we scored didn’t we??There’s just no pleasing some folk ;)
Not just scored – it was a goal that Thierry Henry would have been proud of.
I was digging in my garden today and found a round flat black object with a hole in the middle.
Is this a record?
Some people never see loads of goals.
Just think how lucky you are. ;)
Have we signed Sir Geoff?At least he knew how to play defensively :(
